Yeah it was a low hanging fruit since she clearly thought it was great enough to post three times, but I would argue that even her doodles generally suck in terms that show her lack of general line control and understanding form. (Like I doubt the original pink chicken artist spent super much time to those, yet they look 100% better)
But yeah I think/agree she basically uses digital medium as a crutch so she can freely trace and just slap pre-made brushes and textures to polish turds.

That she can't use anything than the highest tier most expensive tech is probably just so she can show her status as "a pro" because she's using "pro" equipment, in the same way she shows her working on a car to show how much a of a tomboy and not an average feeeemale she is.
OR she really has been so hindered that she's unable to take the time to get used to a different tablet, which is ironic considering actual pro artists generally don't have issues changing equipment and are more likely to rather swear by some obscure ratty ass brush or pen because it has a feel they like, than talk about how high-maintenance they are.

This example she posted of her backgrounds hits the nail on the head for what The Mad Asshatter described with her reliance on Clip Studio assets. It’s mediocre and not at all what I would consider professional. No real sense of depth or size, shoddy background design, mediocre “creature design”, characters look like they were slapped on last minute. Those speech bubbles with misaligned text don’t look very professional either.

Didn't look at that until now, and wow that's pretty bad.
She's pretty much making all amateur mistakes in layouting, the 50/50 sky/ground ratio, both sides being very symmetric, and all the stuff in the pic being placed so they're in a neat row equally far from each other. Pretty much any book/lecture about composition points these out.
There's a ton of close tangents and she cropped the characters really awkwardly.



And then there's the other stupid stuff, like the birds being a brush and having no size variation between the ones that's few meters from the characters overlapping the rock, and the ones miles away. Because she didn't pay attention and forgot to erase the ones overlapping the rock. As a pro would.
There's no horizon or perspective, the planet overlaps the green that I guess tries to be atmospheric perspective, and why is the planet blurry? The moon is not blurry from earth. The earth is not blurry from the moon. None of the rocks in distance are blurry.

And then the actual design. The veil looks average Journey-copypaste, but what I don't get is that it seems to be attached to the ass ring? So you can't really bend down with it. And what's the cloth hanging down from the bottom of the ring? It can't be part of the waist sash, and I can't see it having any practical use as an underwear or modesty coverage especially in the desert, and she already wears pants.
Also not sure why have shoes that are too small for the back toes when they can just fold them when not in use.
It's just bad.

Of course she’s referencing a nearly-20-year-old documentary that even if it were unbiased and not cherry-picked to hell and back, could easily not be relevant anymore due to changes in animal welfare laws in the meantime. I can’t be assed to type out my opinions on the documentary so I went and found another random onlinje person who nailed my thoughts on it.

Earthlings is a documentary. It features real things that did happen: we do eat meat and animals are slaughtered for that purpose, we do test pharmaceuticals on animals, we do kill animals for leather, circuses do exist and we do keep animals as pets.

Now, I have seen it argued convincingly that it is a very one-sided, manipulative film that uses (already outdated in 2005) footage of slaughterhouse and famring practices that are not widely practiced in most western countries, or that have have since been outlawed, and so forth. As I understand, it doesn’t make much reference to the improvements in animal welfare that had already taken place by 2005, or the possibility that such improvements would be meaningful.

Some points are fair; I believe it would be preferable if people did not buy from dealers and pet stores but went to overflowing animal shelters instead.

Elsewhere I gather it misses the mark entirely. From what I’ve read of the transcript, the footage and accounts of animal research is is similar to some other anti-vivisection protestors, using (again) outdated footage of highly unusual or outright illegal practices.

In any case, I consider it entirely acceptable that animals be used in testing of medicines that will save human lives. I guess in the terms of the movie this makes me “speciesist”, but then I’m also an omnivore who will happily wear leather, so I’m probably a lost cause.

In summary: Earthlings is a documentary, which in my opinion - based on reading the transcript - appears to be biased and misleading, but is ultimately based on some degree of factual content, not a conspiracy theory.

Basically, boas and pythons etc nonvenomous snakes can't move their fang, but their face bones are split and movable, so when they're manually pushed and squished for photos or the snake yaws/attacks, the sidebones are pushed down and the lips are pulled back (like in her photo) so the teeth come out prominently:

But what she draws, as in, fangs that can fold and turn outwards, are in a separate bone from the rest of the teeth bones, like with vipers and rattlesnakes:


So maybe she got the idea from boas, but because she doesn't know shit about anatomy, she drew rattlesnake fangs. Also I see zero indication her drakes would have loose jawbones but whatever. And sure, she could pull a "alien anatomy" excuse, but I'd love to see her try to bullshit her way out of designing a functional skeletal system that matches with what she's designed thus far.

Don't get me wrong; the Wacom One is a solid and affordable tablet that doesn't need an external power source; you can literally remove the USB to mains adaptor and connect it to your computer and it comes with replacement nibs, but when it comes to pressure sensitivity and pen angles and all of that stuff, it isn't a modern Cintiq.

Is she just wanting to create a nest of Wacom tablets? Surely the Wacom One is completely beneath her self professed level of artistic skill, lmfao.

A professional artist such as Adiago should easily be able to afford a Wacom One anyway.

Bifurcated reptile jaws? I dunno Trish I don't think you're really knocking it out of the park yourself with that. Some of her pieces have all the teeth rolled forwards and not just the fangs, but I would never have guessed it was supposed to be like boa jaws. I've never heard of this alleged snake inspiration before, up until now it's been monitor lizards this and komodo dragons that.

Even on the first "species guide", the illustration of the fangs does not match with the other teeth right next to it. The amount of gum tissue and the presence of incisors aren't at all the same.

The second page of the "species guide" once again does not have teeth consistent with the above, let alone amongst the three illustrations.

The skull doesn't look anything like the bifurcated snake skull she claims she was inspired by. How the fangs move the way she draws them is a mystery if this is what the skull looks like.

It does, however, look like a poorly-drawn komodo dragon skull. Very rigid and not capable of the things snake skulls can do.

The only time I ever found anything in her art with the entire set of teeth moving forwards was this extra-poorly-drawn part of that reference of a passed-around aberrant drake.

To be fair, one of those new art pieces was gift art from orbiter Kit, not something Trish drew. Like Trish, she seems heavily reliant on Clip Studio's asset brushes and such for effects. I put "shark" in quotations as the only thing about the design that says "shark" is the tail and the word "shark" on the image, otherwise I'd have no idea. This is a trend with furry shark designs I've noticed, a lot of them are indiscernible as sharks and look more like vaguely-mammalian anthro dragons with shark tails. Anyways, it actually reminds me more of Meg's already-kind-of-shark-themed-drakesona and the general color notes of his old foxsona than anything else, so for all I can tell it's pure coincidence that it happened to be a shark character coinciding somewhat with Trish dropping a new shark character design herself.
