Through lack of foresight and stupidity, this weekend, I ended up in a public place that had no less than seven trannies in it. Before you judge me, this was not a gay bar or anything of the sort, literally a normal public space which became very troony late at night.
Anyway. I skim the space thanking god for COVID so my disgust is mostly inscrutable on my face. There were about three regular dudes, two regular women, an old lady, and the aforementioned seven troons.
My reflection, as I observed the group, was this. Certainly we could rule out the old lady as a cis passing troon because no man, ever, dreamed of transforming himself into a little old asian lady complete with visor and groceries. The other two women, well, if they were men God can strike me down on the spot. If their body types didn't rule them out, which they definitely did hipbones and all, their visible discomfort at the troons nearby could only have indicated that were cis or, I don't know, internalized trans misogynists. So of the three women who really appeared to be women I couldn't say any of them landed anywhere near fifty-fifty.
As for the troons, let's list out the mistakes.
- Discount store blouse and skirt, yet big old beard not nearly obscured by his mask
- Shouted to his friends in a bellowing masculine register, dressed like an anime school girl
- Over six foot trying to hide it by wearing flip flops, with football shoulders paired with a strapless dress that only went two inches below his ass
- Visibly #3's partner, enormous head, wearing a collar (didn't pass, but probably best in show but more than any other factor he gave himself away by being in a t4t)
- Enormous eyebrows, lank hair, bellowing in a male voice
- Outed himself verbally, I wouldn't have even guessed he was trying to be a trans woman in the first place if he hadn't said so
- Four o'clock shadow, same height and body type as all his male friends, also would not have guessed he was trying to be trans if #6 hadn't outed him
The takeaway is that, in a space where there is an unusually high probability of troons being present as indicated by all the non passing ones that were observed, not a single one stuck the landing. There are so many ways to fail and so many fail before even starting.
