As a counterpoint, I think urinals are brilliant. They save water and time. A little ceramic divider is nice for privacy and to prevent splash, but urinals are the main reason the men's line for the bogs moves quicker than the women's.
I once had an argument with a feminist (not the traditional kind of feminist, a 4th waver shitlib) and she wanted all toilets to be unisex so that troons wouldn't feel uncomfortable. She also believed that urinals should be banned because they allow men to piss quickly, which she saw as an unfair advantage. She didn't realise that an all cubicle unisex loo wouldn't save her any time at all – or maybe she did but just hated that men don't have to wait as long. Absolute shitlib.
No shame to the men who'd rather wait for a cubicle to become free. If you'd rather have your own space, then that's understandable. Maybe you need a shit or a bump of coke – every men's loo should have a couple of cubicles with a proper toilet and a closable door.
Urinals are brilliant. They're fast and easy. They save gallons of water per piss. Nobody sees your knob unless they're a peeping pervert. Excellent invention. Just ask Marcel Duchamp.

Urinals are objectively more efficient but god damn fuck those urinals with no divider. Transwomen are welcome in the men's room, with the other men. Men typically don't care if another man is wearing a skirt - they have more important things to worry about than the sartorial choices of other men, though they may privately think it's hilarious. Transwomen have had a safe space to pee in this entire time, but it was never about that for them. They also don't face homophobic violence from other men at nearly the rates they want us to believe.

It's stuff like this that makes me fear on when a transgender person becomes a licensed doctor or any sort of medical know-how in the field. It'll be a generational run of ruining kids and oblivious patients who want to be an oh-so real mayn or womyn.
No "medicine is always evolving" excuses doctors getting a massive paycheck by blindly accepting a desperate person's plea to be something they'll never be. It's always "trust the science" when it's science that politically benefits them but never the other way around, huh?

You say that but I doubt someone smart enough to understand how these things actually work (a.k.a: actual doctors, not Reddit "doctors") would also think that you can change your sex. It feels like a chain smoker wanting to become a lung doctor.
They are 100% welcome to experiment among themselves though. It's time for some DIY homemade horrors.

Update apparently:
Here's a short summary so far before I sleep:
Dr Leif Rogers in LA is the surgeon. I'm seeing him tomorrow again to get more information, but I recommend reaching out as he's the source for info and is better than a twitter random.
The gist as far as I understand it is he'll cut the pubic symphysis, and add a bone graft to expand it. You'll get 2 treatments of relaxin at 4 weeks and 2 weeks prior to relax the ligaments. I'm unsure if this is entirely viable, but this was the gist.
He noted recovery looks similar to any pelvic surgery. Up to 4 weeks bedridden and wheelchair bound, up to 8 weeks with a walker, and 6 months is the projected fully recovery. No one has had the surgery yet so actual recovery may vary.
He noted it would expand my hips at 5'6'' around 2 inches by rough estimate. I have concerns I want to bring up and the safety profile likely won't be known until Fall 2026 when the first patients should be recovered.
Some other common answers:
- The bone graft comes from a cadaver. Unknown if he'll use a plate or cage to fix it in place.
Open questions I'll ask about:
- will there be joint and ligament damage near the hip. Will a runner be able to run again at full performance?
- how much does the expansion impact the pelvic floor basically and future SRS goals
- where will the incisions be exactly
- Cost estimate for people without insurance.
If you have questions I can ask them tomorrow.
There's a chance none of this works out though and something comes up and it's cancelled. Hopefully we'll know more later.
