Troons do crop up now and again in r/cottagecore, though they're thankfully rare in other cottagecore socal media pockets. On the one hand, it's an incredibly feminine aesthetic, but on the other, it's one that priorities modesty and you know... going outside and stuff.

I think it speaks to tranny values. The most popular cottagecore content creators are the ones growing gardens, baking cakes, painting, knitting, and many of whom do all of it with their faces off-camera. It's femininity, but it's the non consoomer kind so trannies are still rare. If troons were what they said they were, there would be a lot more of them in these spaces. I'm glad they aren't but it's interesting to think about.

Not sure what to make of the trans kid death. Sad loss of life and at such a tragic age but I’m not convinced that he was killed for being trans. He was killed in broad daylight by a boy and a girl his age, so it most likely wasn't a random hate crime. I'm not celebrating the death of a child, but I'm not surprised by the death of this child. Drugs make the most sense, a local said the "linear park" (abandoned railway tracks) was where teenagers went with "bottles of alcohol", so it makes sense as a pick up location, and it was two other teenagers who feasibly could have been county lines.

That being said, the only evidence we have of drug taking is some white powder racked into lines on a phone - that easily could have been an edgy kid mucking about with talcum powder to make a modelcore aesthetic photo or whatever exceptional nonsense they get up to on TikTok. I'm not naive to the realities of county lines but this is ultimately a small village in Cheshire and not a council estate in Hackney.

There's probably more to this story. Brianna was apparently bullied quite severely and seatbelted several times (that's when you get thrown down the stairs by your backpack) - but also there's a "handful" of trans kids at Birchwood High School (a handful of 1,300 students?) who weren't being targeted in this way.
