And assuming that's actually what happened, it's another example of a very autistic troon who works exclusively with a set of reference points to determine whether someone is male or female. As soon as she saw the badges, the person stalking her instantly transformed in her perception from a man to an FtM, regardless of his appearance and behavior.
Likewise, she is under the impression she passes, because in her mind she has ticked off the correct reference points, like having facial hair and a flat chest. She has no idea that others just see her as a weird-looking woman. She lacks the theory of mind to recognize that others visually process humans as a whole, and see their sex as part of that.
