Saw this post and from the article:"Across the board, Native Americans displayed high support for single-sex spaces and recognition of biological sex of all ethnicities — countering the popular narrative that Native Americans would necessarily support gender identity because of the historic “two spirit” roles in some native cultures. Why it’s almost as if “two spirit” was some recently invented white/tag mumbo jumbo, and we really have no idea whether the unlikely idea that Indians traditionally had trannies, is true since most of their culture effectively died out.

You would think that with all the bitching that natives do when Americans take the more generic aspects of their culture (eg: a sports logo involving a chief wearing a headdress, like the Washington Redskins used to have), they'll scream about how the whiteys are appropriating more of their culture. ...Either that, or try to extort them for money in exchange for permission to borrow the 2-spirit concept from them.

I don't have a good grasp of what the natives actually believed in regards to the two-spirit thing, but from what I can determine, it was just their name for effeminate men that did women-typical stuff (eg: was ok with cooking, raising kids, etc.) instead of man-typical responsibilities (hunting).

The term "two spirit" was completely made up out of whole cloth at a single Native gay and lesbian conference in the early 1990's and for some baffling reason managed to catch on.

But yes, there were a handful of tribes that had effeminate men that got classified as their own gender, typically a variation on female (which is the case almost every time someone trots out the old "non-white cultures recognized more than two genders" saw.) This wasn't exactly a position of high regard. Much more often it was like a eunuch or a catamite.

Universities have utterly buck broken white kids. One of the upsides of COVID was that it made the normally docile parents aware of what their kids were being taught and now we are seeing push back against this shit. Hopefully in a generation or two the demographics of whites having a low tolerance towards LGBTQ+ shit will be up there with the minorities.

These situations where someone is too intolerable even for their cult is hilarious to me. Usually it takes quite a lot in order to be insane enough to be rejected because they are known for lovebombing and being emotionally deceitful in order to retain people who might be having second thoughts.

I don't know how old this guy in the post is, but teenagers are usually impulsive. Sometimes nothing can really convince them to leave a certain group or crowd other than feeling like they've been scorned so hard by them that they turn heel and head the opposite direction. But it can be a mixed bag because a smarter person would just become disillusioned and quit cold turkey, while someone probably like the original OP is more likely to wind up in the hands of another group, who may or may not be more insane than the last.

I don't know how to describe this except the most woman brained thing I've ever seen. I have never asked another guy a question in a public bathroom. I've never been asked a question in a public bathroom. If someone for some ungodly reason asked me what I was doing in a bathroom stall I'd tell them to mind their own fucking business.
