I love most of the early windows themes but I think this by far the most unforgettable. Along with Shanghai Teahouse and Doll Judgement (and the IN stage 4 themes)
IN has a lot of unforgettable themes, but the moment I heard Ghostly Eyes, I knew I was in for peak.
Perfectly sets the atmosphere for setting out in the middle of the night to solve a mystery.

its based on polytopia
the gameplay is pretty good, i like how the theme of each character is remixed in the style of civilization theyre a part of
im not a fan of strategy games but i enjoyed playing it
ah, i thought it was just like a much more basic civ. that's how it plays to me.

How does that play? It looks like Civ 5 but with more emphasis on hero units. Is the multiplayer any good?
see above, it's like a much smaller scale version sorta, but if it's polytopia (which i've never heard of admittedly, until now) then what it does is making sense. i don't have any friends to play the mp with :( but I think it's fun. i've been running the moriyas (who are basically cosplaying as germans)

Im back and i played Touhou 8. This is my review. Whoever reported me and got me banned can fuck himself to his 100gb Touhou prono folder. I can tolerate the rest of you.

Anyways, been playing on normal difficulty, like a normal human being, and found the game boring and miserable. First two stages are easy and the bosses are decent (ie, 5/10) but the regular enemies in every stage are so boring. They're not engaging like the bosses are, and it takes soooo long to get the final section of a stage. Miserable. Killing Marisa is the worst experience in my life. Shooting star shaped bullets with a hitbox thats completely different from its shape. And you praise this game like its hot shit. I can only withstand so much misery before Im convinced the game is wasting my time, so I only reached the 4th stage. First tried the first 2 stages because theyre easy and boring. Only lost a continue on stage 4. If this game removed the first 2 stages and started it off on stage 3, its would be 100x better. Also, increasing the difficulty would not increase my enjoyment. The bosses are sufficiently difficult but the regular enemies are just boring. No amount of increased difficulty would change that fundamental game design flaw. This game also gives you finite continues which incentivizes no-lifeing this game like a basement dwelling neckbeard, or playing on easy mode which is a boring experience. Give me infinite continues and let me challenge myself after experiencing the entire game.

If you want difficult and actually fun bullet hell games, I recommend Crimzon Clover, Bullet Blade Reboot, and even Batsugun which is an ancient game but has a fantastic port on GOG. Touhou 6 has the best music and atmosphere, so thats the only bearable Touhou. These bullet hells are fast pased, very difficult, but engaging at every stage of the game. Play them.

I think IN, as a whole OST, flows the best. You feel the crazy ride the girls go through the forest, to the castle, and finally to the goddamn moon.

The first time I ever listened to the IN ost, I'd only played fucking Lotus Land Story. It was still early in my fan journey, so I was just listening to OSTs to learn the ropes.
And then Maiden's Capriccio came on, and it was like a war flashback. So many lives lost to fucking Reimu in LLS. Every chance at a 1CC, countless extra lives, all because of those stupid fucking yinyang orbs. And while the LLS version of Maiden's Capriccio is adorable:
the fucking gunshot that starts it in IN really nails in that Reimu's more grown-up, and she's ready to really beat your ass.

If you're suffering from chronic skill issues that badly due to lacking an entire hemisphere of your brain, then with enough Game Overs, IN will eventually relent and let you set the starting lives to 7, that way you can have that participation trophy you so-desperately crave. Assuming, of course, you can still claim it even with the handicap. :story:

Hey. What fucking skill issue do I have? Heres a video of me 1cc touhou 8 on hard first try, and you telling me i have a skill issue?
>Which one of you has the balls to show your gameplay?

All jokes aside, that's actually not a bad idea. Post your replays, boys! Who here can actually walk the walk?

I'll admit, it's not my best showing. I died a good number of embarrassing and easily-avoidable deaths, but it's still a complete playthrough from start-to-finish on Hard that I was able to crack out for the purposes of having a replay on-hand to show off.

How long did it take you to complete the game 1cc on hard? Few hundred tries? Thousand? Hundred-thousand? Give me some numbers to work with here.
