Why does he care if Amber shows his gun? Is he a felon? Kentucky doesn't have very strict gun laws.

Because people break into houses to steal guns to sell for drug money. Rednecks are super paranoid about their guns either being taken by the government or being stolen. But funnily enough, not paranoid about their toddler shooting himself in the face.

Ah okay. It seemed kinda paranoid to me too, but I guess there are a lot of meth heads in that area. Who in the hell keeps a gun, loaded or not, under the Christmas tree with a toddler running around? Christ, doesn't Becky have enough dead nephews to mourn already.
