In an act of hilarious misunderstanding of the legal system, ...um... "eccentric" actor/director Tommy Wiseau of The Room fame has been ordered to payout $700k after a failed lolsuit against makers of the documentary "Room Full of Spoons".

Apparently, Wiseau failed to show up on the first day, had gone through five or six lawyers, and called in witnesses who had no idea about what was going on. Pretty much everything you'd expect from the man who produced "The Room".

I'd recommend giving these articles a read for a good laugh:

Considering he went after Nostalgia Critic for his The Room review, I’m not surprised Tommy went after this person.

Hasn't he been stalling the release of that thing for years?

He's gone and Strieslanded himself, if it had just been released then a few dozen people would have seen it and probably forgot by the time Disaster Artist came out. But now he's dragged a spotlight right onto it.

Sounds like it would make an entertaining movie tbh

The world is going to be a colder and darker place the day Tommy wiseau leaves us..... By that I mean go back to save his home planet.

It was a doc from 2016 that nobody saw, should have left it alone.
Now, it will go viral for a bit and more people will learn what an asshole he is.

Who cares?
We've got Breen now, we don't need Wisseau anymore.

I dig not sue her, it's not true, its bullshit, I did not sue her, I did not.....ohhh hey bankruptcy.

He's either playing some warped 4d chess to bring publicity to himself, or he's a colossal idiot. In any event...

So he's Polish. Huh. I always thought he was French.
Polish by birth, lived in France for a spell.

In the Disaster Artist book, Sestero and Bissell couch it in enough ambiguity, but it’s pretty clear that the broad strokes are true.

Wiseau’s (apparent) birth name and date are on his IMDb profile, surprised he hasn’t sued them.

I don't think he's technically Polish, it's just his ship happened to land there.

As someone who's suffered through all of Breen's films, I 100% disagree. Breen is funny to laugh at because he's so egomanical. As a person, and especially his filmmaking, he's one of the most boring specimens you can ever watch.

Tommy is just as arrogant, but he's endlessly fascinating. How his mind works, who he is. Off the camera and on it, I'm never bored by Tommy.

It's on Wikipedia too. It's a name that's been bandied about for years. I guess they were right.
