I'm very picky with tomatoes tbh. I personally don't like them when they are too juicy. But normally I use them to give some flavor to a sandwich or in a vegetable soup.

Basically, I think tomatoes are fine if they're good quality ones and not shit tier like @AnOminous said. For example, I had this burger/sandwich place that put really good tomatoes, but I left the place when they changed owners and the tomatoes where horrible and never came back.

I don't like tomatoes on sandwiches since when they aren't put on right, they make the bread soggy, but I don't mind tomatoes in other applications such as Mozzarella Caprese.

Fried green tomatoes are great and I like them on BLTs but that's it. I hate when I order a sub and forgot to say no tomato.

Banana peppers are worse though because even if you pick them off the flavor still leaches into the sandwich and taints it.

Most tomatoes in stores are green tomatoes gassed with ethylene to turn them red. Buying organic doesnt avoid this process. Either grow your own or go to a farmers market and ask.

That being said I hate tomatoes but love everything made out of tomatoes. Same with Ketchup. I do eat them on burgers though. The only tomatoes Ive consistently enjoyed come on a salad at this one restaurant I go to. They are Roma tomatoes but I have no fucking clue why I like them.
