Stop using disposable razors and get a safety razor. It saves money, creates less plastic waste, and gives a much better shave.
Gently exfoliate before shaving. I use an italy towel. I'm extra gentle right before shaving since shaving is also exfoliating.
Lather the area you want to shave, and let the lather sit there for a while. Like if you're going to shave your armpits: lather them, and then wash the other parts of your body before going back. I don't know why, but this really helps.
Moisturize right after shaving. Don't let your skin dry out and get irritated, make sure to put some very moisturizing lotion on before that happens.
Exfoliate and moisturize regularly between shaves. Can't stress this enough. These two things are the key to preventing razor burn, ingrown hairs, strawberry skin, etc.
