I coulda swore yesterday the top comment on Tim's Episode IX video (the one where he claims to be boycotting Star Wars) was calling him a liar because he said he was boycotting Captain Marvel and then saw it opening weekend. It had over 200 upvotes and now its gone.
 
Is he going to sue the hiphop artist who's been using the name Subverse since at least 2012? Pretty sure he would have a strong case than Tim here. There's also a Subverse from Canada who's been around since 1984

By the way, address for his trademake form is up on public record. Nice looking place, does he live with his brother? They really need to something with their lawn though. I'd post it, but last time I did that mods here claimed I posted fake dox so someone else can do it. Just go to just USPTO. gov page and type in "subverse". He'll be the only active one there.

I tuned out of the situation once Tim said it's not a real word it'll probably go nowhere and I think he's just mad that they told him to fuck off when he asked them to change it.

Likewise that and when he pointed out Studio FOW is based in the UK and he's in the States. Unless publishing on Steam counts as publishing in the US I don't think he has to worry legally, but I understand very little when it comes to trademark and copyright. He will forever be overshadowed by porn though probably.

I haven't watched his video on it but what kind of reaction did he really expect from them? Making a video was likely a bad move in general. Would have been better off just settling this quietly, maybe post a vague "we have contacted the company and are attempting to work something out" sort of announcement tops if that many people are curious.

He should be happy people are finally talking about his Youtube channel. His Patreon for it is only making $9 a month. There's no way he'll have the money to fight this. His IP is dead in the water. You should only trademark something if you know you have the money to fight for it.

Yeah, I used to watch all of Tim's videos, but I'm getting pretty sick of him, mostly because:

1) He constantly gives these stupid preemptive apology/disclaimer statements in every video like arguing an obviously right-leaning viewpoint but then saying, "I'm totally a leftist" or "Not that there's anything wrong with that" or "I have plenty of black friends". Dude, just take a fucking stance on something. You don't always have to apologize for your video just to keep your leftist friends.

2) His video titles are getting really fucking clickbaity, with exaggerations and sensationalism and random ALL-CAPS words in every single title. I'm fully expecting him to go full "YouTube star" with retarded facial expressions and big red arrows in every thumbnail.

I can't watch him anymore. I wish his videos would stop showing up in my recommendations.

Classical Liberalism isn't Leftism, though. It's the precursor to Libertarianism. And how are Rubin and Benjamin not classical liberals? They've both disavowed Leftism and are both in opposition to the Left and authoritarianism in general and have both moved radically to the liberal, minimal government side of the spectrum.

I like Tim, his takes are fairly even.
But this subverse shit is just dumb. I get it, I get that it's your brand and you've been building it and you own the trademarks etc and there's that emotional connection one gets with their brand, but Subverse needs to be the subtext to his brand. His brand is him. If he wants to make a Vice like umbrella journalism company, he needs to have it be a fork of his personal brand.
Like Alex Jones, people think of the brand as Alex, not an Infowars umbrella of journalists. It's just how it is.
