I've never understood this question. It's always implying that the allegations somehow are less credible or the accuser has some ulterior motive. People hold stuff back all the time, especially stuff they might feel guilty or ashamed of.
I believe she said in the video that she's just sick of hearing people speculate about her and why she is the way she is now (schizotrad). And as proven by people's reaction to her, she never really had a chance of being believed anyway. If she'd come out with it right after the incident happened (pre-traddy), people would have said she was just saying it for clout and making up lies about big creators and all that jazz. All GM had to say was "no u" and the majority of people seem to be believing her that it was Angelica who initiated the sexual contact.

There's something just slightly *off* about his voice and his mannerisms in the one in-person video that make me think he's faking. Perhaps not Corpse Husband faking but acting/doing what narrators do, he's got that classic Documentary Channel Aircrash Investigation Tsunami Disaster narrator way of speaking. The way he looks, you'd expect him to have a voice like dear sneeder.
An asmrtist who defo has skevvy voice vibes is that Jim fellow. It's probs been bought up here before, but the video of the re-enactors reacting to his shitty "sexy redcoat" captured by the British asmr Roleplay is my favourite video on youtube.

I think JoJo will likely be the face of ASMR soon. He spent a lot of money setting up a studio in Australia to found WhiteNoise and has been trying to convince everyone that he is the epitome of ASMR by working with a sound engineer (MassageASMR) and paying for expensive microphones (he just bought an $100,000 microphone)/getting sound isolation architecture in the studio. I genuinely think his videos became too technical at some point and now his content is no longer personable/enjoyable.
Asmrtists never benefit from popularity. ZachChoi ran the pockets of his audience to get a better setup for his cooking videos and then decided frying ham and cheese slices in compilation videos made more money, so now he just makes slop. This is the trend I have seen with the community over the years and will likely follow with each asmrtist JoJo decides to feature in this new "camp" he started last year (inspired by streamer university), so he basically gets to decide who to push to the mainstream now.
At some point during a "day in the life" two years ago JoJo mentioned being in an online relationship with a nurse who would "work long shifts" and that he was "down bad for her." Shortly after this, he revealed he had been pre-recording videos for months and had been working on this secret project (WhiteNoise), so this whole project feels like an overreaction to a doomed to fail online relationship. At some point asmrtists will recognize it's meant to be a hobby at best and the people who have done extremely succesful have either leaned into the sexual aspect at some point or have sold themselves to branding thanks to Gibi's husband Ben. Without Ben ASMR likely would had never been seen as a tangible occupation without his brand deals. It's hard to find someone in the community who hasn't benefitted from him in some way, and Gibi's success coorelates in many ways to him. Since she had her son recently her viewership has plummetted. Just shows you how shallow the community can be at even the inference of sex being the difference between 1,000,000 average video views and 200,000. If Gibi does poorly, Ben does poorly. If Ben does poorly, the community goes to shit and needs to instead go for the sexual angle which people like Dong and Emma do, two featured asmrtists in jojos camp this year, not to mentioned ASMRRyan has a wife with an Onlyfans. I could go on but I digress.
I learned to just find your niche and stick with it. ASMR is on a slow downtrend and I'm not complaining. Who remains are the people not in it for the money and who just see it as a passion.

because the market is severely oversaturated, and that is largely the fault of YouTube.
SensoryBySophie is an example of someone who did everything 'right', from being extra careful about sexual innuendo to focusing on the basics to developing professional skills in setup and editing, but... how many first-person lice check videos do we need? According to YT, one a week or else 'the algorithm' won't favour her content.

I will check her out, haven't heard of her before. I agree that ASMR is oversaturated since ASMR became a TikTok buzzword to roughly equate to something that sounds nice or looks satisfying. Also the outright use of it for porn streamers as a method to justify licking their binaural microphones for their hornball audience led to a new wave of using ASMR as an Onlyfans pipeline.
ASMR is inherently intimate (as in whispering is meant to transport secrets in public and privacy is intimate), but not all intimacy is sexual, which is often forgotten. That's largely thanks to porn culture trying to erase that line to justify outright porn and sex work, which isn't healthy intimacy. Although now most ASMR videos can be chalked up to cucumber sex jokes, random shitty "triggers," and pretty women, I think this has cleaned out the smaller communities and created more enjoyable spaces for people that care about this genre of content creation.

Whether or not you believe Angelica about the sexual assault stuff, she definitely paints the ASMR community as as cliquey and drama-filled as your average high school. I'm not sure whether or not SophieMichelle has encountered any of the people mentioned in that video, but the timing couldn't have been more coincidental if not.
This is hardly isolated to ASMR, though - pretty much every creative/arts-based community I've been in, especially when social media is a factor too, will end up this way.
Incidentally, Angelica herself has announced that she's also "retiring" because she hates her current fanbase and is pissed off at the reaction to her video.
PJ Dreams claimed that she was "90% correct" but the math on that doesn't line up with his statement...
And Goodnight Moon now admits that she was sexually interested in Angelica at Vidcon but still asserts that it happened in the reverse of how Angelica tells it - she was the one asleep, and Angelica was the one who started it.

I've seen rumors that she's married, but if she's having to support herself financially or contribute meaningfully to the household finances, she'll be back before long. I don't think she's the kind to work a pleb job after having tasted influencer fame.

Everybody involved in this sounds like they're lying to some degree. I wouldn't take anything any of them say at face value. They have reason to lie and none of the stories really fit. Something sketchy definitely happened and GM's response comes off as questionable at best and when taken with everything the other two said she comes off borderline predatory. On the other hand the other one is a known loon and had no reason to keep quiet about it this long or bother to say anything about it at this point
In short, anybody with any brains or common sense should stay far away from all three of these people in the future and take anything any of them says about anything with a grain of salt
That said, i'm not surprised at all. From what I have noticed reading about this community its full of the manipulative high school mean girl types with their own cliques and agendas who wouldn't think twice about destroying somebodies reputation for some perceived ill. Thats what you get for having a community dominated by ethots and in many cases literal whores who claim what they do isn't sexual at all. None of these people are good people. They're all clout chasing ethots looking for a new trend and group they can milk constantly and have no issues fucking each other over to get what they want
Frankly i'm surprised this thread isn't alot bigger. There are tons of cows and protocows in the making in the asmr community. Its a BPD ethot and grifter magnet

In yet another example of asmr thots posting incredibly inappropriate videos we have this:
Alot of this just sounds off, like part truth, part bizarre rationalizations and part BPD style framing of the situation and things that just come off as made up, like alot of that butterfly stuff
tldr: one of the trashier asmr thots posted a near 90 minute video about her fathers suicide, coming to some rather bizarre conclusions at times and wording alot of things in a way that screams of the kind of thing BPD types do to low key manipulate people into making somebodies actions entirely about them and some kind of personal fuck you for sympathy and attention despite the fact there are at least 3 other people involved. Normal people do not post this kind of stuff, its nobodies business and isn't a normal thing to make such a long and weird video about. Also, the low key admitting she grew up with 2 psycho parents in squalor on par with chris chan explains alot really. None of these people are ever normal. Its the same background tons of strippers and porn stars have. Particularly ones with personality disorders. Note the part about her getting pissy about asking her father if hes happy with what shes doing in life and getting dead silence in return. Yes, i'm sure he's happy his daughter is an ethot that sells porn on the internet. Gee, I can't imagine why he wanted no part of that and refused her 'help.' But no, its because he's depressed and is totally her mothers fault. Like I said, none of these people are normal. Some are just more out there and blatant about it like that karuna nutter
