Who here tithes according to the ancient laws? I have tithed religiously since being familiar with the concept and have never gone a day hungry. Curious what other Kiwis think of it.

I genuinely do not understand how people still fall for this grift. Especially with the rise of prosperity gospel preachers who buy multiple private jets and mansions.
During the middle ages the Catholic Church at the very least functioned as societies social safety net and today funds a few hospitals. Most other groups just give the pastor a big house and send the money abroad.
