Let's look at what is getting published.
Biological Theory Is a journal covering the theory of biology. They publish work on the theoretical foundations of biology.
Browsing through the contributors of the journal, we can find Betty Smocovitis.
Ms. Smocovitis specializes in the history and historiography of evolutionary biology.
In 2009 she published the paper titled, “Marjorie, Matriarchy, and ‘Wretched Reflection’: A Personal Remembrance of Marjorie Grene”.
This essay is a Profile, or a personal examination of a historical scholar.
An interesting quote can be found at the bottom of page 2, running: “So much for the ‘great thoughts of dead white men!’”.
The phrase "great thoughts of dead white men" is not a throw away line, she is dog whistling a much more serious ideological commitment. This kind of thinking runs through a number of Smocovitis’s essays. The suggestion being such: for centuries, the history of science and philosophy was predominantly presented as a linear progression of ideas from figures that are overwhelmingly white, male, and European.
This idea is known as the “white hegemony” referring to the social, political, and cultural dominance of white people and white cultural norms within a given society — particularly those shaped by European colonialism and its aftermath. The term combines “white” (denoting racialized power structures centered around whiteness) and “hegemony” (from Antonio Gramsci’s concept describing dominance maintained not merely by force, but by cultural consent and the shaping of common sense).
This is obviously seen as a negative, whether or not it is true (totally ignoring the contributions made by the Chinese and Muslims). She seems to believe that this is an existential issue that leads to the oppression of vast numbers of people, and this supposed abuse needs to be stopped to end the suffering.
Someone from this ideology may try to argue that these critiques are actually a good thing, because ours is a: “traditional, narrow canon of history, philosophy, and science that often exclusively highlighted the contributions of Western European men, while ignoring or marginalizing the work of women, people of color, and scholars from other cultures.” By politicizing the issue, they hope to make progress on their sociological ideals.
What this really means, by making the situation political, is that any promotion of another race or gender becomes a political “win”. In politics, like war, it is unnatural to side with an enemy, and normal to attack them on any perceived weakness. It would never make sense to support a political enemy that is earmarked for removal: this would simply be a waste.
A politically based hegemony of power like that suggested above can only be removed by overt force: or in other words, war. Now, I can't imagine a peaceful war, so it is my assumption that this war, a racial, ideological struggle, will be violent. Hate will play into this violence.
Promote women over men, any race over whites, and it doesn't matter what the scientific or philosophical result is because that was never the point: the concern was about replacing whites, and not in advancing science or philosophy.
This rhetoric is used to advance a politic of sociological and racial change culminating in an ideology coordinating a movement that hates white people and seeks to politically and socially replace them.
