The vest streak is dead at 276 - What gimmick will he come up with next?

Still up and tweeting

Sharing this here. It's pathetically hilarious how he's still going on about this. Even when the stream ended, mods were still deleting messages 30 minutes + later. I wouldn't be surprised if he was looking at chat despite ending the stream

This is almost as sad as the time Phil's Kotor saves were deleted.

In all seriousness, I bet he's secretly pretty happy that the vest streak ended, it feels like he's hated the vest for awhile now, certainly far more than it ever bothered us. I'm actually surprised he offered to restart it at all in his twitter poll. I'm banking on him trying to transition into jerseys instead, he's already set the groundwork for it, and clearly prefers them over the vests.

I am curious to see if he can recapture that lightning in a bottle. Twitch audiences get weirdly hype over things, with the vest streak now being my go to example to prove that, but with previous gimmicks, it was usually a one off thing. There are some exceptions, but that's generally reserved for either way bigger streams, or for goals/rewards that actually give the audience something. I'd think it would be even harder to repeat too, since they'd have to wait so long to get even close to beating the old streak. Then again, this is Phil's audience, so who knows.

I'm also curious what finally caused it to end. Was it his awful/boring Tony Hawk gameplay from the earlier stream? Taking time off for the totally real and not at all conveniently timed double ear infection? Disability checks being delayed a day because of the holiday?

276. I ain't watched in a while, but does this mean he's had people pay him so much every stream for 276 days in a row? To wear a vest? How much were the goals?
It was per each stream (so 2 a day) and the goals were $100 each. Due to him taking 2 days off because he was "sick", he spent yesterday and today trying to make up for those days of "lost" income. If he reached his $100 tips goal, then he would put on a vest

EDIT TO AVOID DOUBLE-POSTING

He was cutting it close on the night streams for a while now, but I do believe that it was because Phil was asking too much money in a short amount of time, so his small group of whales were spent. His night stream also ended slightly earlier than usual and because he didn't plan anything, he couldn't go into an hour of overtime like animal crossing or street fighter to stall

This is what happens when you allow over-whaling, eventually the seas become barren.

What he should do? No sell it and continue to work the vest gimmick but tweak the early streams to raise $135 as a tips goal and the late stream $65.

What will he do? Play every punk card in the deck and take it out on the ironic fans who just can't stop spending to try and needle him.

I like how he blamed his horrible life threatening illness instead of his general behavior. Thank GOUT it's over.

Or is it?

Easy-streaks incoming.
It's all for this 💵

Phil won't drop a recipe for easy money when all he's supposed to do is literally nothing. Also pay attention to his method to find a new scheme: Instead of coming up with something on his own, it has to be the idea of his fans so he can blame them again if it fails.

Phil had a pretty big hype train early on. Large amount of gifted subs, tons of cheers, easily made well over $100 from the hype train alone. I’d imagine that squeezed some people dry who would have otherwise tipped. One money gimmick kills another money gimmick it seems.

Summer is also coming to a close, so any of his fans who aren’t receiving government disability checks are probably working less hours as they focus on school again. Also his weird “catch-up” tips goals to make up for not making money on his sick days. I’d imagine that rubbed some people the wrong way too.

And let’s not forget Paper Mario was the boring game that made Phil stall in overtime for 30 minutes a few weeks ago until he hit the tips goal. Seems like it was a perfect storm to kill the streak in my opinion.

Wow Phil I guess The thetractors won in the end huh. *arm flail*
This whole streak has been a huge success for him, and you're deluding yourselves if you think this is some kind of L for him. Seriously, he got so many retards to organize themselves to just give him money, he can easily do it again.

Yeah. I wouldn't call getting roughly $30,000 in 5-6 months a failure. But this is DSP, I'm sure he'll make himself a victim out of this somehow.

Given the number of gin tweets/him going into overtime, and then staying muted in the post stream, I think it is fair to say he's bothered by it. I mean, yeah, he's not financially destroyed, but his ego took a hit. And while Phil is massively greedy and cares about money, he's also a giant narc. IMO, what makes Phil a cow is, on paper, his life *should* be a huge success, but because of his greed and ego, he ends up self sabotaging so even when the deck is heavily stacked in his favor, he still somehow ends up miserable and upset. I know it got old after awhile, but part of the fun of the vest streak initially was how much Phil pretty openly hated it. Yeah, he was making lots of money, but that's not exactly a new concept with Phil. He's been making a lot of money for years, but the last term I'd use to describe Phil as a person in that (or arguably any) period of time is winner.

What truly disgusts me is that instead of acting gratefull for once he rushed to find excuses, being stressed and acting pathetic. He's such a shit human being*.

Welp, hope OIC and the other whales are feeling real good right about now.

The vest streak ended, like everyone knew it would.

Trolls and detractors got a good laugh in the end at watching it collapse and watching Phil desperately stall for half an hour.

Phil got his 20.000$ so at the end of the day, the only real losers here are the autist whales who spent the equivalent of a nice compact car to delay the unpreventable.

He should stream without a shirt on and make it a 100$ tips goal so he puts on a shirt. Imagine how fast he would reach the goal
