Can't remember a bad episode this show had, the level of quality is unreal after the first season

If you held a gun to my head, I'd vote for "Guess Who's Coming to State Dinner," mostly because I can't stand Bud Manstrong, the weird Lincoln storyline (Lincoln himself is hilarious, though), and the silly "club soda can scrub out forcefields" ending.

I'm also not very fond of "Momma's Boys," but that's mostly because that episode was clearly two different episodes awkwardly spliced together.

On the positive side of things, word is this is a 10-episode season.

I'm surprised at how bluntly they're dealing with the
Blue Morpho storyline.
I'd have assumed that would have been the season-long story arc like last year, but it looks like they'll be wrapping it up within the first 3 episodes, going by the early reviews.

I for one am excited to see Gary as a batman/monarch/viceroy hybrid.

I always like it when Gary does well.

Loving the first 2 episodes. Excellently done.

I really want the exploration of Rusty's childhood to come to the foreground this season. We saw a lot of the Monarch's last season now I want to see just how bad of a father Jonas truly was.

They hinted in previous seasons like the absolutely crippling bit where Rusty talks about his 16th birthday but I really want to see more of it. Also hyped for Hank having a girlfriend. Can't wait to see how he fucks this one up.

Also the murderer bear. I believed the hype on this one. I hope it isn't in vain.

Haven't watched the leaked 2nd episode, but there was plenty to digest in the 1st so I had to watch it twice, with subtitles to make sure I didn't mishear things.

The music references are almost always far beyond my grasp but I'm glad they do it anyways, even if it's primarily for themselves. I have zero recollection of Sharky's Machine or "Street Life," but the characters find it significant and important, which always has me doing a search to figure out why, and it's a usually a snapshot of an era from an angle I never appreciated.

If I had to hate an episode, the "Spanikopita!" is one of the weakest, even though I want to root for Billy getting arched.

I feel like we should assemble a list of callbacks from the various seasons. Especially as far back as seasons 1 and 2 being over a decade old and all. As I said, truly nothing gets wasted in this show. It's not even easter eggs like Rick and Morty. It's full on things from the past given full lives. Such as St. Cloud from Season 1 in Tag Sale, You're It.

I think the hunch that Vendata is Blue Morpho is correct, and that would be awesome.

I think the hunch that Vendata is Blue Morpho is correct, and that would be awesome.

Doc and Jackson are infamous for saying that when fans figure out what they're planning they change it, and everyone thought Vendata was Monarch's dad when "Bot Seeks Bot" aired. However, I'm still on the "Blue Morpho became Venturion" train because there are so many clues -- and in the first or second episode of Season 6, the Council made a point of saying Vendata was still MIA. I suppose we'll know next week.

"Finale/Premier" trilogy guess

Jonas' head is going to die and come out of the PROBLEM, which Red Death will think looks enough like 'Blue Morpho' and present it to the Council as him and get his seat, so he doesn't have to kill Monarch

Is this Gary going full Viceroy? Or do you think it'll be a temporary thing like a lot of stuff that teases the hell out of us? Or it's probably just modified Monarch hench armor...

Also, Rotten Tomatoes' trailer features a David Bowie song... I mean, it fits the trailer, but they've been known to seed really obscure clues into their stuff before.

Holy shit, you weren't kidding... That was a mindfuck..
You didn't even mention them all but confirming that Rusty and "Malcolm" are (half) brothers

There will be no greater villain on that show than Jonas Venture, Sr.
This is kind of out of left field, but I'm reminded of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's attitude on...

Blackmailers. Doyle couldn't stand murderers, but he hated blackmailers worse. It's one thing to end a life. It's another to toy with someone and force them to do things completely against their nature. In The Return of Sherlock Holmes, there was a character named Charles Milverton who was "the king of blackmail". He had compromising photos on everyone, including his own staff. They were made to do lots of bad things or else the photos would get released.

So, here we have Jonas who makes an orgy video with Blue Morpho, then threatens to release it to his wife if he doesn't do a list of chores from killing a supervillain to stealing plutonium.

Holmes had been hired to get those photos, but just as he was going to get them out of Milverton's safe, Milverton's housemaid ups and shoots him. Watson makes a move to stop the maid, but Holmes stopped him and told them to get out. Holmes later refused to "help find" Milverton's murderer because he felt Milverton needed to die.

So, yeah. Jonas? Evil.

At the end they had Jonas' head in a freezer, but they abandoned it on the ledge when the Rusty Venture balloon floated up. Think that's going to bite them in the ass later?
