I fucking despised Liam, I wouldn't watch any of his shit. All he did was sandbag funny bits by being performatively kind or offended or playing devil's advocate with no punchline.And re:Liam being funny - Liam always struck me as the classic bullied kid who never stood up for himself. Barely seething hate beneath the surface from years of impotent rage, ready to lash out with any number of scathing zingers practiced in shower monologues and only employed in a guaranteed safe and backlash-free environment, but also horribly thin-skinned, where even gentle banter will bring several school years' worth of trauma to the bubbling back up. Essentially, good at projecting an air of confidence when the environment allows, but crumples immediately under any pushback and then starts spitting spiteful venom.
The only times he got nasty were personal attacks and, funny or not, there was always a venomous edge to them that put me off.
