And if you're worried about the cast being too large, worry not. It’s called The Suicide Squad after all. Half these people ain’t getting more than 10 mins screen time before they die. (Davidson and Fillion for starters)
 
This is either going to be great or dogshit. I trust Gunn's ability but something about "1970's wartime capeshit" isn't filling me with a ton of confidence.
 
They really need to start filming the reboot while the original is still in theaters to speed this whole process up. Arizona Bay cannot come quick enough.
 
One of my biggest disappointments with the first movie was that they went after a generic superpowered threat with one of the those sky portals of doom. They already have Superman for that shit. It would be more fun and appropriate to see them fight shit like terrorists so I think them fighting a commie dictator is a great idea.

I just want some candy coated and colorful ultraviolence because dagnabbit I know Margot Robbie has it in her somewhere.

James Gunn casting his brother as Weasel made me laugh hard and scream.

Idris Elba was suppose to be Deadshot but both Warner Bros. and James Gunn decided to have Idris play a new character so Will Smith can return in a future film as Deadshot.
 
This has expensive flop written all over it.

Look, I want DC movies to be good. And not "good" in the Marvel movie sense where you're mildly entertained for two hours and forget everything you just saw the second you drop your popcorn in the trash, I'd like them to be movies with some actual stylistic impact like Reeve's Superman, Batman 89 and The Dark Knight.

I would be very surprised if this rose above the level of GOTG 2.
 
I'd like to point out that this whole "wink wink nudge nudge James Gunn is allowed to do whatever he wants" strategy wouldn't have happened at all if they hadn't fucked with David Ayer's vision in the first place. It'd mind boggling that Warner Bros is marketing this as the movie that will fix up Suicide Squad when they were the ones that ruined it in the first place.
 
I've liked all of James Gunn's work so far, so I have some hope that this'll be decent.

The way current cinema is, there is absolutely no chance of that.
 
There was a leak a short while back that said there are basically two Suicide Squads, one that gets absolutely obliterated, and then the main one, so about half that cast is barely in the movie. I'm going to pirate this, most likely, because I do actually like Peter Capaldi quite a bit, and am curious to see how he does in this one
