I’ve noticed that heads tend to be higher poly than they used to be:

Most furniture blends pretty well with in game sprites but you do see people making conversions of sets from other sims games as well:

Good beds are hard to come by since they’re actually the hardest thing in the game to make due to how assigning depth values to objects work. A lot of the time the sims end up clipping through the bedclothes, which is why a lot of nice TS1 custom beds are decorative only for screenshots and can’t be interacted with, while you’ll see a lot of beds that are just recolours of the maxis ones.
I’ve also seen a couple of Japanese CC creators whose stuff is still realistic but like, more anime esque in like, facial proportions:

I don’t think TS1 players get into the same slap fights over maxis match/alpha cc. They’ll use anything as long as it looks good. I think there’s multiple reasons for this, since the player base skews older and also because TS1 kinda was going for a more realistic art style, it just failed at it due to graphical constraints of the time.
