Tracks like MTC were definitely rooted in irony but S3RL as an artist isn't. He released a lot on a label called Relentless (ran by Kevin Energy who is a huge name in the hardcore scene) where he released a bunch of UK Hardcore and Freeform tunes. The tracks that got popular were his more meme-y stuff but he mostly released average sounding stuff like this. If you want some more serious sounding hardcore you can check out druggy's acid rack, next generation records and the Clubland X-Treme hardcore series for some good stuff.
I've known about him since Jesus still walked the earth, I just never realized he was ironic because you can never tell, not until the scandals show up.
