Going through the Disaster Artist, it really does seem like Sandy did direct "The Lions share" of the film. The film clearly never would have been completed without him, and the patience he had. The filmmaking industry is filled with professionals.

O, man, O, God...Customer reviews - fans of The Room, largely - are not kind to Schklair's book.
Apparently, Sandy's not only claiming credit for running the set, but also for intentionally pushing it into camp. As far as I know, "camp" and "intentional" don't really mesh.
