I remember watching Season 2 of Daredevil and realizing I just didn't care about anything when the Punisher wasn't on screen. When Marvel announced he was getting his own show I flipped my shit and realized I no longer had to care about the rest of that boring Defenders crap.

And boy was I not disappointed. This was badass and was exactly the kind of treatment Frank Castle deserved as a character. Jon Bernthal is probably the most solid superhero franchise casting since Heath Ledger. It's like the guy was chiseled out of a slab of granite specifically for this role.

I partially agree. The first 4-5 episodes of season 2 of DareDevil were absolutely amazing then after that it slows down and -while good- it's not as good as season 1. The rest of the Marvel shows on Netflix vary from having potential (Luke Cage) to being generic crap (Iron Fist).
 
Anyone else finish it? It was fucking epic and on par with season 1 of DareDevil. It's possibly the best Marvel/Superhero show along with DareDevil.

After watching Punisher and being very delighted by seeing Frank Castle as i remember him from the comics in a modern TV show i thought fuck it and watched Daredevil as well. To me the only redeeming thing is D´onofrio´s Kingpin, and even that had me laughing over the awkward directing at times. The guy playing Daredevil is awful, his partner at law is a fucking annoying character, the way the plot solidifies is ham struck and poorly paced. Its just not a very good tv show.

Season 2 is even worse! All the good bits with Punisher is pretty good, but this fucking Elektra is so annoying, every time she gets on screen i just tap out and skip through it while still cathing the beats required to understand the plot. I have no patience for the way they did her, AT ALL. The fact that Murdoch would even date a psycho bitch like that is really at odds with his whole altar boy goody two shoes schtick, so great work by the writers making the lead character not make sense like that. When foggy was shouting at Murdoch in the toilet after she beat up their witness, i was so annoyed that they actually made me sympathize with that awful toad, after having hated him with a passion all through season 1, instead of Murdoch, and decided right then and there to simply stop watching.

I guess i owe the show runners of season 2 Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. So its not COMPLETE shit.

I seriously do not get the praise for this show. Season one at least tried to go The Wire with some commentary on gentrification and black money funding the big movers in our society, or some such bullshit i am actually not even sure if thats what they went for since its so garbage. The acting made me laugh, and the relations between the characters made me annoyed as hell. Season 2 manages to ruin the delicious work they did with Punisher by sidestepping it with this bullshit Yakuza/Hand stuff.

Can somebody provide me with a counter point? I am honestly interested in hearing an argument from somebody who likes the show. Maybe convince me to watch the rest of season 2.
 
At the risk of going full tumblr, I just can't believe a show by Disney on Netflix actually seriously tackled gun control in a pretty nuanced and impartial way. I mean, it was really only one episode. But still. I'm not used to subtlety on this stuff.

If that was part of Ennis' run on the MAX series than that's going to be some seriously dark and fucked up shit.
