They bitched about some Silver Age episodes like Principal and the Pauper (which is actually a good episode despite the rep it got) and Al Jean has been on a vendetta ever since.

My favorite part of that quote is that the guy was bashing "Itchy and Scratchy: The Movie" which would probably be in my top 10 of favorite Simpsons episodes.

All those terrible ideas are unironically better than what's on the air now.For reference, this is from a season 13 episode that aired in 2002, almost two decades ago.

I wonder if there is a way to make this scene funny.
Perhaps Lisa should keep saying the same stuff about sjw & alt right. Marge agrees but finds the term warrior too violent & Lisa says they are all peaceful dindus. At the same time Lenny & Carl are walking past their house and something funny and harmless happens between the two. But Lenny is suddenly surrounded by a sjw mob that call him racist and [insert some made up phobia] & chase him with pitchforks.
Or:
Lisa keeps saying the same stuff about sjw & alt right. Marge agrees but finds the term warrior too violent & Lisa says they are all peaceful dindus. Suddenly they hear a weird sound. They look out of the window and see that Lenny or even Chief Wiggum is getting chased by an sjw mob who calls him all sorts of things and he screams back: "You don't understand! All I said to [Carl or Doctor Hibbert] was that [insert something funny & completely harmless]!!"
Marge looks back at Lisa. She laughs awkwardly and says: "He deserved it..I guess."
Took me like 2 minutes to come up with this. It's not perfect of course but it's at least a bit more funny than the other garbage.

AVGN made people think that was the worst game in existence (and you know how some people just take everythng AVGN says as gospel), but I played that when I was a kid (as well as Bart vs. The World) and the controls take a bit of getting used to, but it's actually a pretty fun game. I was even able to beat it within the rental period.
