The Official Simpsons Griefing Thread

The Simpsons deal with AI in tonight's new episode:
The episode is actually about Superintendent Chalmers becoming rich by selling the mucus of giant radioactive snails as a skin care product.
Even just the summary of "Keep Chalm and Gary On" on that Simpsons Wiki sounds like a fever dream. Also, that is a lame episode title.

bait and switch
Older episodes did bait and switch better.

A tweet showing a picture of Apu started some rumors about the return of Apu.

Kwik-E-Mart owner Apu Nahasapeemapetilon had long been a major part of The Simpsons before being phased out due to the controversy surrounding the character. He's largely been ignored by the franchise ever since, but almost a decade later, he was given a special shoutout online.

The official X account for The Simpsons shared a new post featuring an image of Apu. He is holding a purple pillow with a gold-colored Squishee on top as angelic music plays. The included caption of the post reads, "Frozen. Colorful. Questionably nutritious." It's perhaps the most attention that The Simpsons has given to Apu since diminishing his presence almost completely in 2017. Check out the post below.

I watched a bunch of episodes from season 18 and 19 on the weekend, and man, the trend from season 10 of starting with a good plot idea and then sidelining it for something shitty and filled with the usual Springfielders instead of just generic weirdos ran on unabated.

Prime example of that crap was the one where Marge started playing an MMO. Everyone playing the game is just someone from Springfield.

You could have the episodes where a celebrity plays a literally who that will never appear again

This episode was so dogshit. So Bart was good at the game and had to be punished why? “Bullying”?

They should’ve flipped the concept and have Marge be out of place with her aggressive get-alongism and have to learn that’s just how games with a competitive element go. Especially without the exaggerated elements from people who’ve obviously never played an MMO before.

It was no Make Love, Not Warcraft.

John Swartzwelder, the Simpsons most prolific writer posted this on his twitter yesterday.

I just thought it was interesting that part of the effort of creating the show for this crew of comedy writers actually involved getting a tour of a real Nuclear Power Plant. Just makes sense that if you're doing a creative work you should do research.

Wait, the guy who refuse to do interviews and wouldn't do any of the BTS extras on the DVDs has a Twitter?!

I can remember when just finding a photo of him was something the fans counted as a victory.

If they title an episode "No Problem With Apu" and make it the most racist, jeetophobic thing on television I can forgive these past couple of decades
I'd call the episode "Apu Redeemed" and here's my pitch:

Kent Brockman's special news report informs about a wave of constant Indian scam phone calls targeting the citizens of Springfield. Homer laughs at stupidity of the victims, only to fall for such a call himself a minute later, losing all family savings in process.
Since the Springfield PD is useless, Marge grabs the evidence and goes to Kwik-E-Mart to ask Apu for help. Poor Apu is tired and stressed out of everyone blaming him for it or expecting him to know the scammers. He starts to lecture Marge about how India is a huge country full of more than a billion of all kinds of people, only to stop in the middle once he notices that, by a huge coincidence, the scammer who robbed the Simpsons is his old classmate Prakash from Calcutta. He offers to help them and they all travel to India together.
Then it's basically just Codex Pajeet for 10 whole minutes. Or make it one long Threehouse Horror episode. Not just the Simpson family, but Apu himself is absolutely horrified at the condition of the whole country and its people. Garbage, scammers, and perverts everywhere.
They track Prakash down into a huge call centre sweatshop, but he refuses to return anything, claiming he's a serious IT professional (with a cubicle wall full of misspelled certificates) and doesn't budge at all.
Simpsons feel defeated and are about to head home, only for Apu to get a clever idea to scam Prakesh with a scam of his own. He manages to haggle with Prakash and trades the Simpsons' savings for a huge collection of racy photos of American babes. Those are revealed to be a just a catalogue of bob wigs, but when Prakash realizes his mistake, the Simpsons are long gone.
Outside, they're chased by a zombie-like horde of jeets that turn everything to shit upon touching it. Some fun action happens, and the Simpsons and Apu safely board the plane and fly away with a sigh of relief, commenting that they must be very dilligent to only let the select few like Apu to emmigrate away from there (Apu agrees).
Upon return, Aou falls on all fours, kisses the ground and with a tear in his eye says, "God bless America!"

The B-plot would be Lisa catching explosive diarrhea after enthusiastically ordering authentic Indian food from a street vendor. The rest of the family is fine because - to Lisa's anger - they refused to even try the local cuisine and simply ate Krusty burgers Homer smuggled in in his suitcase. Lisa spends the whole episode locked in the hotel bathroom shitting her insides out, which is why she's unavailable to bitch about muh racism while the main plot happens. They can forget her there on their way home for all I care.

This is off the top of my head. I believe it could work with a bit of polish.

Watched a shitty Vice documentary on The Simpsons and it pretty much sums up why the The Simpsons suck so much now. I don't recommend it repeats the same shit over and over and is woke. First Episode is on youtube: https://youtube.com/watch?v=0JO8nQA0ghk:1

how is it wEditoke specifically?

I asked the same question in my first ressponessss to his post. Whiole I huaven't watched it from what i have seen, it does do things that annoy me as explained in my second post earlier.
I know this is YEARS late but I can finally answer the question as to why it's woke as I have finally gotten to watching it.

The wokeness comes at episode 5, "The Later Years" (At around the 2:50:00 mark in the linked official upload,) hey begin to complain about the lack of diversity and exclusion of women like it's a scandal. They have this modern Zombie writer woman say how its hard being a female comedy writer when the old writing staff were white and male and the narrator was literally like “maybe we don't want to go back to the golden age after all.” They do it again at 3:35:00 where they make it sound like one of the good parts of the zombie years is diversity in staff and not the actual content. Its literally trying to make a story about on e of the modern writers fighting through sexism and making sou8nd as if everything is good now because of it. She literally also says its unfortunate that it was so male at the beginning.

I had to edit this message to fix misleading mistakes lol, also because I am still updating it as I watch.

No need to imagine then Nelson Muntz will laugh at Lisa's misfortune and chances the Simpsons might see a Indian reboot of Itchy & Scratchy made by Bollywood. :story:
