Rams trade Jared Verse + 1st + more picks for Myles Garrett, Browns also get a 2028 2nd and 2029 3rd
Actual fucking highway robbery. A cornerstone and surebound hall of famer for almost seemingly nothing in exchange, especially since the Eagles were willing to give up multiple first round picks over multiple years to get Garrett last year before that contract.
The Rams might actually win the Super Bowl now because of this.

I was already convinced that Haslam did not know how to run a sports organization; after drafting Johnny Football, rushing to get Mayfield the fuck out of town after one bad year due to playing through injury, and trading the entire future of the franchise to Houston for Groper Cleveland.
This does not change my view whatsoever, obviously.

Lo and behold, the factory of sadness still pumps out depression to Cleveland fans! I still have to give it to Haslam, he's one of the best lolcows in NFL history owner-wise and never fails to disappoint on that front.

Just watch the Browns completely fuck up Jared Verse (who is pretty good, but ABSOLUTELY not Myles Garrett) and the ensuing draft picks in some way or another by wasting them or giving up on them too soon, it's just inevitable. Roll the quote from JuJu:

They didn't do it during the week after Black Monday like most competent teams do (so the new guy has time to prepare for free agency and the draft AKA the busiest time of the year for any GM, let alone new ones).
Instead they fired him right in the lull between conference championships and the Super Bowl, after he had a particularly tone deaf press conference (or, if you're in a conspiratorial mood, after Sam Darnold made a Super Bowl one year removed from being on their payroll, and that was the last straw), after all the clear candidates were already taken. When nobody was particularly interested in signing on for an immediately accelerated draft planning schedule, they had to go through it with an interim GM and give Kevin O'Connell a bunch of influence/rope to potentially hang himself with.
I rescind my optimism, it is fucking over and we are FUCKED. I think Murray will do solid at the helm though at the least. If we don't get a playoff win for the like 6th year in a row I don't see KOC being around next season.

So the Super Bowl winner this year is pretty much whoever wins the rematch of the NFCCG should both teams stay healthy?

Also it looks like Raymond Berry died

Holy fuck Charles Cross is going to fucking die this fall

And just like that, after many months of anticipation, the AJ Brown trade is finally official and he's going to my Pats.

I should be excited, especially because the trade is actually pretty good for what it is, but I'm going to doom anyways and completely expect this season to be a total loss given our schedule (and also, of course, the Krafts).

All I want are very high draft picks for next year and for Drake Maye to not get the absolute shit kicked out of him like what happened to Mac before him.

Back in the 2019 draft, we should have absolutely taken Brown (or Deebo) over N'Keal Harry anyways, but Belichick was absolutely dogshit at drafting for offense in his later years when he started to mentally lose it; even pre-Jordon Hudson.

I don't get the black mood. You gave your franchise QB a full season against a cupcake schedule to develop, and he did, nicely. Despite the cupcake schedule, your defense got battle-tested and showed up in the post season. Yeah, you were found out in the Super Bowl, but Brown fixes the most glaring hole on your roster besides maybe the tackles.
Now the pressure's on more, sure, but the AFC East still consumes more than their fair share of paste and unless there's lingering fallout in Buffalo after the Pegulas blew everything up in a fit and scared off most of the league's coaching prospects, you're on a solid track to be #2 in your division. Even with the schedule, you guys are probably a fringe playoff team.

True and now THE NFC NORTH IS GOING TO MAKE BOSTON GET BEYOND FELTED

The black mood is because I'm worried that Drake Maye might have deja vu comparable to Mac Jones-post 2021 by getting absolutely fucking rocked and then possibly losing all of his confidence. Will Campbell is no OT especially with how he got exposed in the Super Bowl by your team, he's far better being a guard. It's safe to say that I am not confident at all in our OL if Campbell is supposed to be our best. Belichick absolutely fucked our team up in too many ways after 2021.

Also, the Krafts will inevitably find a way to undercut for cheaper pay and piss off AJ & others anyways. They have never went over the salary cap even once in the past 25 years. Yes, this dates back to even before the Twin Towers fell.
I just don't have a good feeling whatsoever about this season. Call me a doomer, but the vibes are just off to me.

Nah, you're just back in the Patriots cycle that has existed since the 60s. Suck > Get good > Lose the super bowl (AFL championship) > Be mid until you suck again > repeat. The only era this didn't happen is the 70s.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say some Dolphins starter is getting traded. I don't think Josh Sweat from the Cards will get shipped off
