There is a reason why a terrible organization like Cleveland is introducing this rule change. They want to up the limit on one of their credit card. This time they'll use it wisely. Why use 1 pick on a talented player with the potential to change the entire trajectory of their organization when they could use 5 future picks on a player who they KNOW will win them a Super Bowl? It'll definitely happen too fr fr no cap famalam

For every Howie Roseman abusing void years there is a Mickey Loomis abusing their team with void years. Credit cards are a responsibility that some teams can use well and others can't.
 
Being able to trade picks that far in the future is a complete disaster. See: the NBA.
You simply shouldn't allow GMs the ability to essentially sabotage a team well beyond when they could get fired with some ridiculous trade. Imagine a new GM job opens up and the new guy has no first round and second picks to work with for 4 years because the previous guy was that much of a retard. Nobody would want that.

You can make $40m over a decent career as a kicker. You basically never take physical impact and as long as your legs work, you're good. No CTE or shit like that. Seems like a pretty decent deal even if you're talented enough to play a more glamorous position.

A few years after Martin Gramatica (probably spelled the last name wrong but you know who I mean) retired from the Bucs, he rented a tractor from the place I worked at because he was working construction. Just don't do whatever he did with his money and you'll be fine.

Making a guess, guy might just have rocks for hands and can’t catch a ball for shit.

Besides, that much power in his legs, and being in the position least likely to get his shit destroyed via CTE? Guy’s set for life if he’s not a total fuckwit (see - literally anyone arrested between Draft day and Training Camp)

Its because he spent his first few years in college playing soccer before switching to football. Hes only been kicking for 2 years and he was just a kick off specialist at UTSA, so he only has a year of experience kicking field goals in game.

Counterpoint: it's, by far, the most disposable position in the game. Few and far between are the franchise legend kickers. Usually all it takes is a 2 game slide or even just a bad day in a critical game and they are cut. Scapegoating the kicker is the first move every floundering coach/front office makes, before looking at staff, before looking at overall roster talent, hell, before taking a breather before entering the postgame press conference. They do that because there's a lot of NFL-caliber kickers in the league already who can fill out a rotation among the 2/3rds of the teams who don't have the position set.
Still a great deal, making a lot of money for playing a game, not a lot of physical wear and tear, but it comes at the cost of moving around a lot and catching a lot of heat probably better deserved elsewhere.
