They banned smelling salts. IDK if anyone had thoughts about that. I think George Kittle was upset about it.
George Kittle headbutts a nearby wall as part of his pregame ritual, I don't think the league is going to take his opinion on banning something used to hide concussion symptoms seriously.

Update to this, I guess. It's now a BYOSS system- bring your own smelling salts- which makes it sound like the NFL was mostly concerned about the hundreds of dollars teams were spending on these.

After seeing this it's totally fair. But like why can't you just let teams provide them anyway? Unless we are to believe the NFL doesn't operate as 1?
Owners are cheap even after signing that random player to a 40 million dollar a year contract. Makes sense. It's the no 1 sport in the US by a country mile but they pay the least and mostly not the whole contract versus the other two inferior leagues (nba mlb) a player gets his leg cut off he gets the entire 700 mil or whatever. No stars in baseball at all and the nba finals gets less then 9 million people. Yea nfl players get hosed unfairly

If they cover up concussion symptoms and the NFL provide them, this could be used against the NFL in a future law suit. Players doing it independently can't be used against the NFL.

ESPN is acquiring the NFL Network and other National Football League media assets, including the linear rights to the league's popular RedZone channel, in a deal that will see the NFL get a 10% equity stake in the all-sports network, it was announced Tuesday night.
It is going to be hilarious to watch ESPN personalities continue to pretend to be journalists and not a PR department.

RIP Playmakers. Such a good show. My Dad and I still talk about some scenes when watching games.

Nfl Chris beniot'd that show. Any espn personality that disagrees with goodell will end up like that show. That was my first exposure to the game. If I knew how the game would be now (nba in shoulderpads) I would have just stuck to wrestling.

Well that turned to shit fast.
It was already beginning to circle the drain. People are mourning the commercial free football, but I seem to recall at least a couple weeks at the end of last season where they had some commercials within Redzone. It was only like 1 or 2 a broadcast, but I certainly remember being pissed off watching with my dad because he pays for Redzone and Sunday Ticket.

It was a test drive to gauge the outrage for ESPN's buyout and inevitable ruination.

The suffering of Chargers fans and Justin Herbert's body will continue as scheduled:

Less than two weeks after re-signing left tackle Rashawn Slater to a four-year $114 million ($56 million guaranteed) extension, the team has announced that he'll miss the entire 2025 season after suffering a torn patellar tendon during practice today.

Patellar is bad. It's what got Nakobe Dean last season. His rehab is supposed to be going well and they're projecting him for October, but seems to be one of those things some guys come back from and others don't.

Things were going too good for us. Season's over before it's begun

Maybe they played these commercials before but anti-toxic masculinity commercials and mental health commercials out the ass during these pre-season games.
Edit: richardson already injured lol out for rest of game.
