Those free throws Brunson shot at the end were the only free throws the Knicks shot in the second half. What the fuck?
Tony Brothers heard the fax machine beep and saw a lil check from Adam Silver comin through. I don't usually complain about officiating but this series has been weird as fuck so far.

Poor Wemby carried the team on his back to make it close then single-handedly lost it for them.

Weird game. Officiating was atrocious. I know we all dunk on the modern game for being soft but when the playoffs come it turns into WWF wrestling and that just isn't basketball. Way too much holding, pushing, etc.
The refereeing is really what's making these games so hard to watch. Pull up a few playoff games from the late 80s-early 90s, and you'll certainly see a whole lot of hard play, but what's notable is how much more professional and on the ball the refs were back then. They knew when to let things stretch a bit and when to make calls.

Just as an example, I'll post this classic--the 1994 Game 5 between Denver and Seattle. Finals-level intensity in a round 1 contest, guys selling out their bodies, extremely physical play, role players stepping up and keeping the starters afloat, and judicious refereeing that isn't making the game about themselves over the high-stakes contest between two desperate teams. What we're seeing these days is a joke compared to this:

Castle, Caruso and Draymond would just foul out four minutes in if the refs called everything.

I've been watching the WNBA recently and they've really cleaned shit up compared to two years ago. Did you know that illegal screens exist? If the talent level was higher, honestly, it'd be more enjoyable than Street Fighter 2: NBA Edition.

Nah, that's how the refs should call the regular season too. I'm tired of throwing yourself into the defense to draw a foul being a strategy a large part of the league abuses. Watching players like Shai turn into acrobats trying to catch a whistle is infuriating.

Totally agree, I just think it should be an offensive foul instead

Until these dog ass refs start calling it or they make rules around it players will continue to flop to try and draw fouls

They called that shit for like a weak a remember Trae Dung getting called for it while he was still on the Hawks but the league gave up on the pretense pretty early.
They called it on Bron once (it was vs. the Pistons) and I think that may have been the last time they ever called it.

I still think Embiid is the worst flopper in the league. Dude's built like a brick shithouse and will launch himself halfway across the court if a tiny guard's arm gets too close to him and he feels the breeze.

Embiid is the most egregious and blatant but SGA is still worst. Emsneed never saw a single ECF and his injury history can be partially attributed to throwing arround his 300 pound body like a ten year old. SGA won a title and two MVPs and was making his way into conversations he never would have otherwise.

I'll be a normie fag and say NBA 2K16, but from a strictly fun factor standpoint - NBA Jam and NBA Hang Time on Genesis used to be a riot.
