The first Naked Gun is probably my favorite comedy of all time, so I went into this expecting to turn it off after ten minutes but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not as joke-dense as the original but it’s pretty close with the number of gags, visual and otherwise. I’ve soured on Neeson as an actor since he transitioned his career to just doing ‘Taken’ style movies over and over, but he honestly killed it here. Stuff like his reaction when CCH Pounder calls him into her office in the beginning sold me on his character completely. I literally haven’t seen Anderson in anything since 2005’s Stacked so she was almost unrecognizable but she’s great in her role as well.
Plus, it’s got Lord Zipacna playing the villain’s right hand man! Literally right before I watched this I had just finished watching Locke & Key(where Kevin Durand played the villain) and spent the entire time going “That’s Zipacna from SG1!” to myself. Cool to see him getting some work.
