And much like when they made the Scientology episode and Isaac Hayes walked out it's all fun and games when they're parodying stuff you don't like, but the second it's your thing you throw a big hissy fit and call them bigots. The hypocrisy is disgusting.
The difference is those liberals are seriously assblasted about these episodes.
From all accounts, Isaac Hayes was okay with it, was forced out of the show by the cult, and it broke his heart.
Of course, they're a nasty protection racket under the guise of a religion created by the shitty sci-fi author Ron Hubbard. As bad as sjws are hasn't the Church of Scientology been known to do some pretty fucked up shit to dissenters?
People have written books on how fucked up Scientology is. That's pretty bad.As bad as sjws are hasn't the Church of Scientology been known to do some pretty fucked up shit to dissenters?

They pretty much targeted things like Catholicism, Atheism, and even Islam. Beyond that, they even did their own take with the 2004 elections in how they saw the candidates. As for saying the show is old, they have been doing this stuff since at least mocking Barbara Streisand. The thing which really fucks me off about that is that they (and other liberals) thought South Park was their friend, completely failing to realise that way back in 2001 Matt and Trey gave an interview where they said that while they hated conservatives they really hated liberals. Everything is fair game on South Park, there's nothing and no-one they won't spoof. IIRC, didn't some of the fucked up shit include suing and winning said law-suits against dissenters. As bad as sjws are hasn't the Church of Scientology been known to do some pretty fucked up shit to dissenters?
And that's why we don't have a Scientology thread.IIRC, didn't some of the fucked up shit include suing and winning said law-suits against dissenters.
Back on topic, Richard Dawkins said something akin to "We're all African" before Meryl Streep did.
They'd mock him for mansplaining along with being some old white CIS male.Which is why SJW types relentlessly mock Dawkins.
So, basically the Mary Sue article featuring the Coen Brothers is basically just an elongated "Why don't you write stories the way I want you to write them?" whine.
"Additionally, calling the #OscarsSoWhite movement started by April Reign an unnecessary escalation reeks of privilege and comes across as incredibly condescending for the many people who have voiced that the subject matters to them."
You know what's incredibly condescending, Charline Jao? Acting as if the person who has a different or neutral opinion to something you care about is an inherently terrible person because they don't think the same way you do. Hell, just the phrase "reeks of privilege" in all actuality reeks of the condescending attitude of someone who has spent more time in liberal arts academia than with interacting with your average Joe.
"It becomes clear around the time that Joel equates Chinese and black people to Martians that I’m going to have to watch Hail Caesar! with some conflicted feelings."
Yes, because heaven forbid you buzzkills actually enjoy something for once in your lives.
"It’s frustrating to see directors whose works I like try and say there’s only one “right” way to write stories and to dismiss diversity as something that needs to happen organically rather than something that should be actively considered."
YOU people are the ones saying that there is a right way to write stories by actively meddling in the creative endeavors and trying to stamp your agenda onto everything. The Coen Brothers might say "That's not how stories are written" when asked their opinion on something, but at the end of the day- they're the ones sitting back, writing their own stories and essentially minding their own business. The Coen Brothers aren't the ones trying to make hash-tag political movements trying to force a specific agenda into already existing media.
They or anyone shouldn't make token characters for looking diverse. It's like all these idiots mad at award shows want subpar writing.
The reboot does look like the old one...

if it were done in goanimate.
Yet they actually think jack all has changed about the show. I don't remember the original show being this upfront with its feminism.
There was that episode with the straw feminist villain that manipulated the Powerpuffs into being third wavers.
The one that Anita Sarkeesian used as an example of a Straw Feminist.
