The only thing working against Alex is that he didn't speed run his halal. From my understanding he was here for a few years before he caught someone's interest. No clue if that matters, he deserves an award for something.

Any oldfag or longtime user that gets got is at least imo more deserving than some drive by PA request gone awry. I almost think there should be a distinction or between actual users fucking their opsec versus tourists not reading the registration disclaimer.

It's a shame Felix Lang lost to Talbott in the first year of the OPsec Fail Award, because Alex versus Claudio feels like a slight rerun of that. I think them being here for years adds to the halal but there is something funny about fucking up so badly so quickly like Claudio or Talbott did.

The Felix thing is probably the best argument for a distinction, though not if it makes partaking in the voting process more of a slog. Depending on if/how Josh makes the Julays more of an official thing, it might be something to consider going forward.

I think the "General Talbott Personal Army Failure Award" would be a good idea for tourists who make bad PA requests and fail to read the registration label. Unfortunately we've only had one long time user fuck up their OPSec enough to deserve an award so far, so unless that changes by the end of the year when voting starts, it might be a pointless distinction.

Personally I feel like making another award category would just complicate things. The OPsec Fail award is pretty simple in that it's who has the funniest OPsec fail of the year. Whether they are a complete newcomer or a user with a long time history doesn't necessarily matter as long as the fail happened in the year of the award. It's certainly a factor to consider and they can both be funny. Felix's fail is the result of a year of annoying people to a breaking point and then failing to sock five times while Talbott's PA request against a 14 year old who bullied him is hilarious.
Maybe an issue is people voting base it on the threads of the cows and not the actual OPsec fail? Like I know Josh isn't interested in Talbott's thread but finds his origin story really funny. He also commented that he doesn't think Claudio has a chance at WINNING because he personally really dislikes Claudio's thread. While I get that he finds it repetitive, it's valid criticism, the reason Claudio was nominated isn't because he just spews repetitive bullshit nobody cares about in his thread, it's because in a matter of two days he did a speed run getting a thread and being shunned/banned by the streamer communities he orbited and donated to.
Aside from making it easier to vote, I'm assuming a way Josh will make this official is he will give his own endorsements for each category maybe.

Chantal having medical scares in mofo Syria is borderline LOTY-sweep worthy, but I’m still holding out for Anisa-and-I for LOTY. Anisa-and-I are the perfect combo of dumb and cocky and have objectively made an ass of theym-selves. Seriously, they’ve gotten A&H and BP users to unite, which is worth celebrating alone.
