Bait them with a worse forum to moderate, one populated by bots (with the intelligence of the average redditor) that constantly post a deluge of garbage. Give them mod privileges and fan their ego. They will be stuck in a loop of chasing their own tail while at the same time reinforcing their behavior because they feel powerful over control of thousands of anonymous "users"' lives.
