The internet is a demon magnet - Rational, non-schizophrenic argument that doesn't rely on anecdotes or symbolism.

First assume that spirits are real. Most religious believers will agree on this fact, though I can quickly offer an agnostic explanation for this assumption, and why there would be evil spirits as well as good ones
Should we assume that the afterlife is not just wishful thinking, then we likely carry our personalities and beliefs into the next world because that's one less assumption than the alternative (dead people are like the people that they were in life versus dead people consistently change their natures in an instant). This means that dead people have motives to influence the world. They are also likely to have the means for it because a spirit needs the ability to interact with matter if it can carry a person out of their dead body. This world is also confirmed to exist, unlike Heaven or Hell, so "the world is haunted" is closer to Occam's Razor than "everyone instantly gets sorted into another dimension", since immediate punishment of the evil after their death is an extra assumption.
Now assume that spirits coordinate with each other towards shared interests. They are likely to tell each other about the best locations for pursuing their interests. All websites are on servers that occupy physical space, and whether they're reading our locations through clairvoyance, or peeking over the admin's shoulder, or some other way of tracking users between websites, they can also use that server to find victims of manipulation.
This leads to the existence of haunted servers that bring demons to people who access them. Nothing special needs to happen for it to get this status, a spirit just happens to decide that it's a good place for doing its thing. The worst part is that the consolidation of the internet, inserting more servers into the same physical space, is directly beneficial to their tomfoolery, especially because those servers tend to be hosted in cities of sin.
If we follow this to its logical conclusion, then sharing a website with extremely evil people is always dangerous no matter what you're doing on that website, because you are reminding them of your existence by frequenting the site.

Oh you're no fun are you

I knew there was a reason I didn't like reddit

I thought this would be how demonically influenced/suppressed people love using the internet because it would obviously give them a larger pool of people to try to influence and drag down in turn, even if they themselves are unaware of being used for such a purpose, but got haunted servers instead. Disappointed.

Not sure if I agree with this interpretation entirely, but I do think there is something inherently anti-human about the internet as a whole and it might act as some kind of nexus for dark forces.

Okay. But if you remove the initial assumption and apply this logic to people rather than demons you arrive at the same conclusion with an argument that is not only logically stronger but also more practically actionable.

Demons are a convenient way to dismiss human agency. I’ve never encountered a single demon, but could talk about shitty people I’ve encountered all day
This goes both ways. Why would a demon exhaust effort ruining people when it can just let people succumb to temptation and laziness on their own?

Genuine demon possession is serious stuff, but most bad behavior just stems from an undeveloped nous.

Of course. We are its very core, our dark power spreading misery to trannies, darkies and downies world wide!:alog:

Oy vey, don't notice this! It was the goatmen in the sky, I mean underground!
