I'm actually starting to wonder if Indian population numbers aren't massively exaggerated just like the ones from Africa. I know that the cities in the North are overcrowded shitholes but I've seen some images of the south and it's surprisingly bare in places - not at all what you'd expect with over a billion of the fuckers running around.
I'm convinced it's the case. India received development aid based on its population. African countries received aid and funds based on population, but in addition, their status and position within the African Union is also based on population size, as well as the disbursement of internal aid and funding. Chinese regional and local government received central government funds based on population; there have been several cases of local government officials pocketing vast amounts of money intended for local development there. In each case, the apparent birth rate plummets as soon as a reliable, independent way to gather demographic data arrives. The only places that have accurately recorded their population for the last 200 years are western nations, the small, rich parts of south east asia, and parts of south america. Everywhere else has had a financial incentive to lie about their population growth.
What I suspect has happened is that they have had a high, but not truly exponential population growth, from a smaller base than claimed. They still have huge populations, but they are lower than the official estimates. Possibly by as much as half in China's case.

Blockbuster video gonna roll in and claim the most unpredicted victory of all time. Dunno why they would go with VHS instead of DVD or Bluray aside from the movies that never got a release in those formats. VHS has to look like shit on modern TV's and I don't think anyone is making CRTs anymore.
VHS is objectively a terrible format without even getting into how the tapes degrade with play or the inability to jump to where you want when watching, or needing to rewind them. The resolution is very low, and it employs pan and scan, cutting off large portions of the image horizontally to fit into a 4:3 CRT television. Terrible chroma compression as well as someone who lived through it there’s a reason DVD was so massive.
