This sounds awesome, actually. A horror film where the monsters are unhinged shitlibs.

But it's from Hollywood, so at the end there's probably a twist that makes the "deplorables" the bad guys because they kill their enemies and they win, Trudeau style. Or something.

You know there's absolutely fucking no way that this makes them the 'bad guys' right? Damon Lindelof said that 'The Watchmen' on HBO was about white supremacy. He's writing this.

There will be some sort of twist, I guarantee it.

Well, if there is a twist, then their ideology will have hilariously bit them in the asses. They can't even advertise their own movie anymore because of the current wave of sperging about guns.

I was being facetious. Hollywood doesn't have the balls to put out a film where the viciousness of the left is exposed. So yeah, I assume a lame twist is included that will make hunting and murdering Trump voters palatable.

And I expect it from everyone in Hollywood, but I'm sad to hear Lindelof has gone full TDS retard. The Leftovers was one of the best shows of the decade, easily. He's always got my tentative interest in his projects because of that. (Ain't watching the Watchmen, tho.)

Considering Damon Lindelof is writing it, I expect that this movie will have a completely incomprehensible plot and any political statement contained within it will be totally unintelligible. I'm fully convinced that man must have some kind of dissociative disorder.

Nobody remembers Suburbicon.

I remember. I wish I didn't but I do.

I vote to tard rangle Hollywood even though I think we haven't got the full story yet. It's just time. Also, just watch Tucker & Dale Vs Evil instead. That movie is hilarious.

'The Hunt' canceled by Universal following significant backlash
By Jessica Napoli | Fox News

Universal Pictures has canceled the September 27 release of the controversial movie "The Hunt," in the wake of significant backlash over the film that depicts privileged vacationers hunting "deplorables" for sport.

NBC’s Universal Pictures, which shares parent company Comcast with NBC News and MSNBC, told Fox News on Wednesday that the movie’s marketing campaign would be “temporarily paused” on the heels of the tragic mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, Dayton, Ohio, and Gilroy, California.

At that time, it had no plans to shelf the movie itself.

But in a statement released to Fox News on Saturday, a Universal Pictures spokesperson said: “While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for The Hunt, after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film.

“We stand by our filmmakers and will continue to distribute films in partnership with bold and visionary creators, like those associated with this satirical social thriller, but we understand that now is not the right time to release this film.”

According to a source, “Universal insiders feel that doing the right thing was more important than releasing the movie because of the current climate.”

There are no official plans for the future of "The Hunt." It could still be released at a later date or move to a streaming service.

The movie featured Betty Gilpin and Oscar-winner Hilary Swank, was written by Nick Cuse and Damon Lindelof and directed by Craig Zobel.

It was billed as a satirical take on wealthy liberal thrill-seekers taking a private jet to a five-star resort where they embark on a “deeply rewarding” expedition that involves hunting down and killing designated humans.

Those designated humans being “MAGA types" as described by The Hollywood Reporter. “Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables," a character says, according to THR.

The term was originally coined by Hillary CIinton during the 2016 election as a derogatory reference to Trump supporters. The movie was reportedly going to be called, "Red State vs. Blue State," at first.

Variety reported on Saturday morning that Swank said she wouldn't discuss the film while at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. “No one’s seen the film. You can’t really have a conversation about it without understanding what it’s about," she said.

On Friday, President Trump slammed Hollywood and presumably the movie.

“Hollywood, I don’t call them the elites. I think the elites are the people they go after in many cases. But Hollywood is really terrible,” he said.

“What they’re doing, with the kind of movie they’re putting out, it’s actually very dangerous for our country. What Hollywood is doing is a tremendous disservice to our country.”

Fox News' Brian Flood contributed to this report.

So the pearl clutchers won and it wasn’t confirmed that the movie even was political in the first place. Outrage culture sucks, regardless of politics.

The next generation really will never get its Clockwork Orange.

Reports are saying that Universal decided to pull the film because of the controversy AND because of anti-gun spergs.

So, yeah, the pearl clutchers won ... But from both exceptional sides.

Should they have canceled it due to people being pissed? No
Should they have canceled it because it's basically a repackaging of "the purge" (another hilariously stupid movie)? Yes

How much you wanna bet this is according to plan?
The movie was gonna be shit either way, so they're gonna make the big bucks if it'll turn into one of those niche/secret movies that are only released through physical copies.

doing the right thing was more important
Ah, I love that. That fucking excuse that keeps echoing across history and will keep doing so for millennia to come. Never stop to consider how you define something as "right," when it's such a fluid concept because you know in your heart that this is right, yes, this is it. It is the right thing. This is what needs to be done, this is the exception to very rigid rules that define the basic values where the "right thing" was cultivated.

And then you flick that switch, turn your head and put on your iPod to drown out the screams.
