It is tasteless but not bannable.

Though if the good guys made it, it would be glorious and the hero would be a white straight male who leads the deplorable slave revolt.

And gets rescued by Donald Trump on a velociraptor dual wielding uzis and acxomapanied by Chuck Norris carried by giant lotr eagles, but in the US bald eagle colours. And ICE agent army with freeze beam weapons! And the raptor would be shooting a bazooka.
I will watch that.

I skipped Get Out entirely because it sounded like Stepford Wives but for race relations. I liked Us, though. This sounds more interesting, like maybe both factions are going to be mocked. We'll see.

If you want a fun, super violent movie without the politics, I recommend Mayhem (2017).
Huh. Maybe I just like hammer wielding Korean leads.

Eli Roth wrote and directed Green Inferno because he hates SJWs and wanted to see them die horribly and get eaten (not always in that order). Social justice grieftards weren't even triggered, let alone outraged, though they might've acted differently if the movie hadn't flopped.

Oh sure, this gets produced, but when I send Hollywood my manuscript for a movie about Stallone typing up Slavs and pissing in their mouths they say I “need to seek help.”

Fucking hypocrites.

This sounds like a really boring premise for a movie. If you dumped a bunch of ivory tower coastal elites and a bunch of rednecks in the jungle, my money would be on the rednecks every time.

Jesus Mary and Joseph if Red Team doesn't learn from Blue Team's horrible and hilarious mistakes and do the exact same fucking song and dance over petty bullshit, I won't actually do anything but I'll be INTENSELY DISAPPOINTED.

It's the old jewish trick of making the marketing push mundane while revving up the outrage machine to get word of mouth going.

Check out the Hollywood Reporter exclusive that Fox News cited. Multiple Universal executives are quoted off the record. The rest of the cabal distance themselves by saying this script was so crazy they wouldn't even touch it. The article teases a bit of the screenplay where a woman stomps a stiletto heel through a hillbilly's eye for the crime of owning guns, opposing abortion and posting nigger on Twitter. "War is war", she quips.

If it flops, it's the result of one renegade studio head rushing the right project at the wrong time. If it succeeds, it's the result of one genius studio head and a sign that more movies need to get woke.

Everybody remembers Get Out. Nobody remembers Suburbicon, The Oath, Assassination Nation, Downsizing, Late Night, Robin Hood '18, A Wrinkle In Time and all the other times Hollywood fell on their face trying to push an agenda.
I only remember Downsizing because my whole family thought it was fucking terrible.

And this whole “left vs. right” claim, including the “original” title, was started by only one dubious source. What we’re supposed to trust journalists NOW?

I saw the trailer, and ...

Unless there's some stupid twist at the end ... It looks like the movie is saying that the elites hunting the "deplorables" for sport is bad.

So ... Why you mad, fellow conservatives?

Because they need faux-outrage for clicks, just like their strasserist counterparts.
This looks like it will be interesting. Not because of the movie, but because of the shitstorm around it.
Depending on how it’s played, I see two general reactions.
1: It plays the “Moviebob’s wet dream” angle completely seriously. The elite liberals are the good guys fighting the evil wasteland ghouls. The blue checks will love it, and push it at every opportunity. Conservative grifters will REEEE.
2: (The more interesting possibility, and the one which I think is more likely). The elite liberals are unambiguously the villains, and are portrayed as psychos who just want an excuse to kill people. The blue checkmarks go apeshit because it hits way to close to home for them, denounce it as “Trumpian propaganda”. Hilarious twitter shitstorm ensues. Moviebob goes ballistic over it.
Regardless, we’re getting this for movie night when it comes out.

Does anyone remember Red State? No, and nobody will remember this either.
I remember that Stephen Root is the ATF official on site and essentially does Waco 2: Electric Boogaloo

Edit: fucked this up John Goodman is the ATF agent, but Stephen Root is the sheriff.

Honestly, the conservative moaning and smug liberal dick stroking are equally obnoxious given that no one has seen the movie yet and no plot summary exists.

Boomers gotta boom.

Donald Trump Blasts Hollywood for ‘Racist’ Films

UPDATED: Donald Trump blasted Hollywood as “racist” outside the White House on Friday morning, adding that the industry is doing a “disservice” to the country.

His remarks come amid controversy over “The Hunt,” the Blumhouse film about elite vacationers hunting down blue-collar whites for sport. The film has generated backlash on Fox News and other conservative outlets. Universal has suspended marketing for the film — due out on Sept. 27 — in the wake of the El Paso and Dayton shootings.

Trump followed up on Twitter in the afternoon, appearing to refer more overtly to the controversy over “The Hunt.”

“Liberal Hollywood is Racist at the highest level, and with great Anger and Hate! They like to call themselves ‘Elite,’ but they are not Elite. In fact, it is often the people that they so strongly oppose that are actually the Elite. The movie coming out is made in order…. to inflame and cause chaos. They create their own violence, and then try to blame others. They are the true Racists, and are very bad for our Country!”

On Friday morning, Trump spoke for about a half hour outside the White House, before leaving for the Hamptons. His comments on Hollywood were prompted by a question about Twitter, which many on the right believe discriminates against conservative viewpoints.

“We’re going to be very tough with them. They’re treating conservatives very unfairly,” Trump began, before veering into a diatribe against the film industry.

“Hollywood — I don’t call them the elites, I think the elites are the people they go after in many cases. But Hollywood is really terrible,” he said. “You talk about racist — Hollywood is racist. What they’re doing with the kind of movies they’re putting out, it’s actually very dangerous for our country. What Hollywood is doing is a tremendous disservice to our country.”

Trump did not cite “The Hunt” by name, but he typically uses the term “racist” to refer to perceived attacks on white people. Over the years, he has leveled allegations of racism against Spike Lee and Tavis Smiley, and once questioned why ABC was allowed to air “Black-ish,” calling it “racism at the highest level.”

Following his remarks about Hollywood, Trump appeared to return to the subject of alleged censorship of conservatives on tech platforms.

“They treat conservatives — Republicans — totally different than they treat others, and they can’t do that,” he said.

Trump has been under fire for his own comments in the wake of the El Paso shooting on Saturday. The shooter issued a manifesto saying he was acting in response to the “Hispanic invasion of Texas.” That came weeks after Trump took heat for telling not-white Democratic congresswomen to “go back” to their home country.

Trump has bristled at accusations of racism while casting the accusation on others, particularly non-white members of Congress. In a July 28 tweet, he called Rep. Elijah Cummings — the African-American chairman of the House Oversight Committee — “racist.” He also called the “Squad” — Reps. Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib — a “racist group of troublemakers.”

Congratulations, now they can advertise it as "The movie the President doesn't want you to see."

This is truly my favorite timeline.

Also everyone in that trailer was white, right?

Isn't the general synopsis for these kinds of movies that the people who are hunted for the entire film end up murdering the hunters at the end of the films, anyways? I mean, making it a politically-motivated movie at this point in time is a little tasteless but if the intention was to shove the movie into the public sphere via pure, unmitigated outrage then... Job done, apparently. We'll get a couple months of the Right Wing freaking out and the Left Wing making fun of their outrage, all the Left Wingers will go watch the movie and see the hunters get murdered at the end, and then we'll get a couple months of the Left Wingers utterly detesting the movie while the Right Wing slaps on the same smug face that they were wearing prior to seeing the movie.

That sounds like a fair deal, to me. I can't foresee any legitimately-surprising plot twist that would deviate from that, since it's modern Hollywood and this is a slasher flick. Neither of those things tend to be full of surprises.
