don’t buy their games. Stop watching their press releases, and ignore news coverage on their products. Pressure games industry organizations to ban these companies from their trade shows.

We gave the games industry the chance to clean house internally, and it failed. The time for compromise is over. The time for direct action is necessary in games. We must join the larger call for Black Lives Matter, queer liberation, and anti-fascism, and bring these revolutionary movements into games.

The good news is that the potential strategies with direct action are endless. Protests outside of game development studios, occupy movements in front of social media headquarters, boycotts outside of midnight game launches, disruption campaigns during press events. Fundraisers for Black-owned game development studios and trans DIY tech communities. Sit-ins, teach-ins, and rallies. In successful direct action, the democratic needs of the people lead the call, lead the needs, and lead the change.

While I’ve criticized Riot Games and Blizzard in my reporting, I’ve also played Valorant and Overwatch obsessively and sung their praises to other industry members.

The day a team of five unwashed trannies make something fun I'll be first in line to buy it because I don't give a hot gay fuck about the identities or personal lives of the people who made the game because I'm not an insane person. All I want is a game with a good story, good music and that is fun to play. Pretty art (which I make a distinction from good graphics) is nice but optional.

That such a game is so difficult to find in the indie game market (or at least the section that finds importance in IDpol) says all that needs to be said about the issue.

If you can't make a good game it's because you don't have the talent or training to do so. It has nothing to do with who you are necessarily, unless you're too much of a sociopath to attract and work with talented people. If your game sucks it's because you suck. Work hard. Get better. Give people a reason to buy your game other than the fact that you have a cock but like to wear panties. I don't care about that. If your game was presented blind to players not knowing who you are they wouldn't care either.

We just want to play fun games. Make fun games or fuck off. You aren't owed anything.

Not just that, but they pander to a vocal minority that is impossible to please.

I remember when the TLoU2 was actually starting to get played, and people got to the part where the confirmed FtM character Lem was having his story arc, and people were STILL bitching that "Lem is getting deadnamed." Yeah. By the villains. Off screen. Which is why all LGBTQ+ characters are written to be Mary Sues: they can't even go through a character arc where villains treat them poorly without the customers being offended.

Also, they are pissing off like 97% of their fanbase to make 3% slightly happier for like an hour and then the 3% will look for something else to complain about because they HAVE to be victims.

The shittyness of the games industry has been known since the 90's. Even the "EA spouse" was from 2004.

The problem is every kid wants to be a "game developer" and will ignore the warnings so there's a never ending supply of meat for the grinder.

It will also never get fixed if you blame it on sexism/racism/etc. The stories from the dotcom bubble are even crazier and that's when it was 99% white guys.
