god-tier performance, or deliberately piss off the audience (sometimes both at once), or be completely disinterested and deliver crappy, blase performances because he didn't even care about the audience.
Did you ever catch one of his shows? (I have not) It's honestly just impressive to me. Instead of crying about it or whatever he gravitated towards 'here are some abstract renditions of the songs you came to hear and yes - me and the band did prepare a setlist for this particular occasion'.

Skip to roughly 03:10, just pre transition. Shit like this is why his live albums are so great. Oh, you wanted a deep fuzz/ overdrive section? Enjoy this barber shop quartet rendition me and the fellas cooked up last night. The drum fill just before the 'rug pull' cracks me up, too.

The ring of fire (johnny cash) cover for instance; Some singer is just blasting garbage into his mic at several points. I don't know if this is true or not- but to me it sounds like the audio tech just got tired of his shit and cut the mic off at one point which I find pretty funny.
Here's the song I meant, not ring of fire. The 'mic cut' is at about 01:50

Última edición:
I remember that shortly after Frank's death Alice Cooper was interviewed and he said that he'd met three truly "original" people in his life: Groucho Marx, Salvador Dali, and Zappa.

This version of Outside Now fucks so hard. I love the stripped down feel of the instrumentation, but what really sells this version for me is that this is one of Frank's nastiest guitar performances, and I mean nastiest in a good way. He just totally shreds over what is supposed to be one of the more somber songs in his discography, and it adds even further to this amazing song.
