Pretty much. From the trailer, it looks like it follows the same general plot of Brave Exvius, but reformatted to be a console game.

Combat looks different from the mobile version, which had timing mechanics - you had to activate your abilities so that they either hit simultaneously during their animations, or began one after another in order to combo. Curious to see if they'll work in something similar here.

Crossover elements are still present but looks like they're relegated to Cloud or whoever appearing to do a one-time attack, rather than being party members. Tbh I would have been fine with them being completely removed if they're trying to make a "real" Brave Exvius game. Maybe it's just my autism, but it seems silly for famous niggas to appear out of the ether like a summon, do their song and dance, then fuck off til you next call them to smack a random encounter.

It worked that way in World of Final Fantasy. It was kind of a Pokemon type system where you collect all the monsters and summons to stack on each other for abilities then the hero characters worked like summons to do a special attack.
 
Just wanna vent real quick even though its been said ad nauseam, FF7 isn't even my favorite square game but the more I think about what the remakes have done the more upset I get at just the general state of gaming right now.

Imagine having the chance to face-lift one of the most beloved games of all time and you decide to shove in 100's of hours of fetch quests / ubisoft padding and then slather multiverse slop all over some of its most iconic moments. What were they smoking?
