Well, some absolute fucking madmen made an unholy combination of Beyblade and fidget spinner.

They're not the only ones either. This guy bought 3 authentic, imported, discontinued Beyblades and then butchered them to make a fidget spinner.

I talked to people.

I can only imagine how pathetic I'd be were these things around back then, especially being touted as "a way to cope", or even "by getting their nose out of their phones/games".

Great, so replace the digital crutch with a physical one. How is this improving anything?

Distraction is always the best method of anxiety coping, but, why use these? Read a book, bring a friend, talk to someone, watch something on your phone, play a game, listen to music, doodle; there are literally so many better (and productive) things you could do to distract you from being anxious too than watching a piece of plastic spin and outing yourself as a crazy autist.

I want to add in, I now have an immense dislike of these things for one simple reason: I just got into skateboarding a few months ago, and one of my favorite things to do was browse bearings and read up on them, etc, to decide how to give me the best ride.
The last time I did this, no issues, but now guess what I only find, even when I specify 'skateboard bearings'?
