for me the coolest real life mythology/anthropology inspiration is the idea of composite figure of great conquerors like ghenghis khan being actually multiple people who all add to the legend of ghenghis khan
but in the elder scrolls the idea is literally realized with a dash of holy trinity in Talos being actually a combination of 3 powerful conquerors mantling the place of a dead god shor/Lorkhan so you get the inspiration from real anthropological research but it also actually happened at the same time

I would say that a generally good way of going about making a mythically compelling world is to muddy the lines between mythical and literal. Any religion worth its salt will tell you that the mythical is not to be understood as literally true, but mythically true, which is MORE true than if it had literally occurred, as it edifies some element of reality. But say the line isn't so clear, whether Talos was originally a man called Tiber Septim, who was Talos of Atmora, or whether he was Hjalti Early-Beard from High Rock, is not merely a matter of historical import, but also metaphysical as well; that's where you can find the melding of the fantastical and mundane at its most compelling.

Nah, the dumbest thing in the game is that Tullius didn't just slit Ulfrics throat on the spot and instead took him a quarter around Skyrim just to have a random execution in the middle of fucking nowhere.
That and they were seemingly gonna execute him last, how do you make a speech about putting the man down and then send him to the back of the line?

Poison Song for TR is coming out in October, unfortunate wait cylce for what was supposed to be mainly an overhaul
Well it is coming with a whole new faction to join, House Indoril, so it's a little bit more than a regional overhaul. I'll miss the Mournhold look, but I am happy to get Nerevar's own to join.

It's actually funny seeing Imp supporters on reddit try to explain this away as an honorable and lawful act and not one out of stupidity.

Helgen had a centralised location, so news of Ulfric's execution would have spread further and an official execution diminishes martyrdom.

It wouldn't matter when they killed Ulfric if the time dragon god hadn't turned up literally out of nowhere.

If Ulfric had been rescued by other Stormcloaks then I'd understand it because enemy soldiers are something that the Imperials should plan for, but the only reason this isn't one of the most out there possibilities in Elder Scrolls is because the lore also includes sound manipulating elves accidentally being sent to the future where they get attacked by trees in space.

They could have slowly crushed him under a banquet table like the mongols or slowly beaten him to death with a spoon and it wouldn't have mattered.

(The real reason is that the writers needed the Imperials to be a) stupid so that the player could escape a setpiece and b) have the imperials personally inconvenience the player so that they might decide to choose the Stormcloaks, despite three of the previous four games being openly pro Imperial.)

Imp supporters telling you how the Nords are stupid for not wanting their family members and neighbours to be black bagged and tortured to death for worshiping their god in the privacy of their own home and being angry at the Empire, an empire that many of their country men died in one of the most horrific wars to save from it the brink of destruction, turns a blind eye to said black bagging.

but the Nords just need to trust the plan and think about the big picture! A united empire of Man is the only way to win!!!

(Ignore that the last time the Empire fought the Dominion they got their asses kicked and that Hammerfell alone managed to bet back the Dominion)

I like how you didn't specify which of the 4 isn't pro-imperial because I read them all as both Pro-Imperial and other than Arena Anti-Imperial

The main guy who was doing the Indoril assets had a sperg attack and withheld his assets after people kept telling him that Morrowind's engine doesn't do pure white colours correctly and bounced. They got another guy to redo everything from scratch on that front. I think that's why they were delayed. They now have a policy where Work In Progress assets or any work in general must have an archived version attached whenever giving an update to stop this from happening again. https://wiki.project-tamriel.com/wiki/Asset_Guidelines - lol
  • Once you've found the asset you want to work on, make it known by clicking the "Develop this asset" button and, optionally, leaving a comment underneath the asset page and on Discord. Also, change the status to "in development".
    • As you develop the asset, you can follow the concept to a tee, but you can also suggest and make changes. Make sure to discuss any significant departures on Discord, however.
  • As you work on the asset, make sure to post periodic WIP files throughout the progress. Attach these to the claim and update the progress completion percentage. This is very important – you wouldn't believe the amount of otherwise wonderful, 90%-complete assets that we've never recovered due to a bad hard drive or the developer simply losing interest prior to their completion.
Beneath the Permafrost - New Landmass mod released. Compatible with TR and featuring a Nord Fortress Town being besieged by awakened daedric ruins. Modder worked on another landmass mod called Darkness Over Dunbal where Namira and Meridia are waging a private war on a isolated island fishing village.

You get to make him watch as his followers go first, just to rub in how powerless he is.

Would have worked too, if not for Alduin showing up to try and kill some random nobody who had gotten caught at the same time.
