The Economic Collapse of 2025 - Are you tired of winning yet?

You missed the forest for the trees. This is the quiet acknowledgment that they're pivoting to tolerate an anti-immigration policy. Maybe it's because they finally paid attention to the indian problem, maybe it's because they realised that their prior plans aren't going to work. Maybe they're just reacting to twitter updoots. Maybe they've realised that popular rebellion is closer than they thought. The point is, they're accepting they can't continue their previous path of endless immigration if they want to enact their systems of total control.

It's been predicted multiple times right in these very forum, and elsewhere. I wasn't sure it would happen and that they'd stick to their stupid guns until they were all dead of old age, but here we are.
imho it has more to do with the 'good immigrant' market having been completely drained, with most of the ones coming in now being a net drain. There is also the whole support for the only democracy in the middle east issue.

He is also admitting that there is a competency crisis caused by mass migration and the hiring policies that follow.
"Standard of living." And everybody who doesn't have it, is doing actually not too bad even if the population shrinks. Well, a little too late now.

I'm waiting for the Jan 28 - Feb 5 earnings reports (MSFT, META, GOOGL, AMZN, AAPL) for if AI pops now or later. Both OpenAI and Anthropic have had parabolic rises despite being non-IPOs.

This and spring housing sales. People delisted their for sale houses to relist again in spring.

But idk, I’ve said before that I definitely am seeing a localized economic collapse. Add to that the $5k+ price of gold and the $100+ price of silver.

Just like the economic crisis of 08 actually did start in 07, I think 2025 will still be the “correct” year to pin it on.

The message below was shared with Amazon employees earlier today.

I want to let you know that we're making additional organizational changes across Amazon that will impact some of our teammates. I recognize this is difficult news, which is why I’m sharing what’s happening and why.
As I shared in October, we've been working to strengthen our organization by reducing layers, increasing ownership, and removing bureaucracy. While many teams finalized their organizational changes in October, other teams did not complete that work until now.
The reductions we are making today will impact approximately 16,000 roles across Amazon, and we're again working hard to support everyone whose role is impacted. That starts with offering most US-based employees 90 days to look for a new role internally (timing will vary internationally based on local and country level requirements). Then, for teammates who are unable to find a new role at Amazon or who choose not to look for one, we'll provide transition support including severance pay, outplacement services, health insurance benefits (as applicable), and more.
While we’re making these changes, we’ll also continue hiring and investing in strategic areas and functions that are critical to our future. We’re still in the early stages of building every one of our businesses and there’s significant opportunity ahead.
Some of you might ask if this is the beginning of a new rhythm – where we announce broad reductions every few months. That’s not our plan. But just as we always have, every team will continue to evaluate the ownership, speed, and capacity to invent for customers, and make adjustments as appropriate. That’s never been more important than it is today in a world that’s changing faster than ever.
I'm grateful for how our teams continue to deliver – for customers, for each other, and for the incredible things we're building together.
Thank you,
Beth

EBT now forbids junk food purchases. We subsidized them for years. That’s why the prices were so high.

Also still waiting on the collapse of 2025. Why are housing prices going down?

electric bill been rising constantly the past few months. now at $190 for a one-bedroom apartment. thermostat stays at 69 and all my windows stay sealed. fuck this gay earth
