The Disappearance of Gus Lamont - The strange case of the Australian 4yo with a tranny grandfather

If the child’s been gone for 6 months then I think it’s a bit weird that nobody spilled the beans. They all in on it together? That’s not a good sign. Like he was being neglected and they were all culpable? If my in-law killed my child I’d dob them in without a second thought. Why would they all be in on this conspiracy?

I think dad's known the whole time.
I think you're right, yeah. Think about it from Josh's perspective:
(true crime YouTuber analysis incoming)
  1. Meet a nice, shy girl. It goes great, you marry her, she gives you two beautiful sons.
  2. Her father seems like a decent man but he gets sick in 2015 and decides to become a woman. Weird, but you cope with it because the girl is just perfect.
  3. She gives you two beautiful sons and you decide to move in at the sheep station.
  4. Tranpa starts arguments, tries to control you and your wife.
  5. You move out but your wife and two boys stay at the sheep station, even though you want them away from that place because you think it's dangerous for children. You make the two hour drive each way to visit your family whenever you can.
Now, why would this man accept a home from his step-father who is behaving oddly, and is not helping the police that much in finding the son that your wife and step-father did not tell you was missing before police showed up?
Not involved = "What the fuck? I already own this place that is rundown and I was repairing in my spare time so my wife and children can get away from this tranny freak."
Involved = "Free place to stay as we sort this out and figure out how to handle Gus's death. Tranpa will handle the heat and I'll lay low in Adelaide."

Gus did die earlier this year. Police show up to notify me my son is missing.
Not involved = "Where is my son? Why didn't they call me? Let's go up there immediately." (this is what he has said happened)
Involved = "I need to pretend to be worried and confused. This is the easiest way out of negligence charges and I just need to pretend Gus went missing. I live a life of shame and guilt for it, but I don't go to prison and my remaining son has his father."

If Gus did die earlier this year, then Tranpa and Shannon wouldn't notify Josh on the night (he was woken by police and told his son was missing) because they knew he knew, or they'd arranged "the night" beforehand.

Like he was being neglected and they were all culpable?
There's only one or two images of the boy around. It's pretty common for neglected kids to just not have childhood photographs. The photograph of Gus was about six months old at the time he went missing in early October. Did they not have newer photos of their son? Why not? Was he bruised, dirty, sick? The date of that photo also lines up with the calendar at the father's home which suddenly stopped being used sometime around March/April. What huge event would stop a man from filling in his calendar?

Every single new answer we get opens up five new questions. It's just so weird because their behaviour does not match up at all to any common thread of parental behaviour, even when it comes to missing children cases. Just...weird. All of it's weird.

They are gonna blame some poor Mulga, Taipan or Brown Snake for Tranpa killing the kid, aren't they?
I mean, look, if Tranpa was supposed to be watching the lil dude, left him playing outside where there are known dangerous critters and didn't check on him for hours and he got killed by an animal? Tranpa effectively killed him. It would be at least manslaughter by US court definitions, dunno how Aussies classify that stuff.

According to the official story it was bio grandma looking after him while his mum and tranpa were with the sheep.

They need to be charged with negligence or whatever it is here.

I might be biased as a biologist with a background in reptile ecology, but I'd rather have my kid playing outdoors with a live venomous snake nearby than with a troon nearby 100% of the time

They finally released photos of bio grandma. Tranpa waited till his father in law was dead and buried before transing into his wife. He also inherited her share of the property as head of the household prior transition. Deceptive fucker.

At least post the photos, c'mon.

We have photos of Tranpa and first-time photos of Shannon since Gus went missing:

They were in Jamestown (about two hours away from home) meeting a man from a company called ElectraNet:

Apparently, ElectraNet are building a new electrical transmission system near Yunta, he was sat in the meeting showing them notes and things on an iPad.

The father was approached on Tuesday asking if he wanted to speak to reporters and declined, so he's staying quiet.

The thing that strikes me about that photo where Shannon is steering the cart/trolley is that he is staying behind to do the talking. She's used to him controlling the conversations. Tranpa is also a smoker, you can see he's holding a pack on the way out of the shop.

EDIT: Bonus horrifying image of Tranpa from his Facebook:

Why does he look so fucking skeevy in every photo taken of him? Even if he wasn't a troon this guy's general demeanour would still sending major chomo signals.

He's Australian (dry, obviously-male skin, sunburnt) and has lived away from measurable civilization for decades.

Also, his mayo blobs seem to be going sideways rather than down so that triggers everyone's uncanny valley setting when seeing an older person. He's got massive shoulders too so it really throws off his entire appearance as a "woman".

I just had a thought, too. His clothes look rather similar to his wife's and the grandmother has either lost a lot of weight recently or she's wearing some of his clothes. That cardigan she has on looks massive on her.

He's Australian
So am I. It's not his dry, leathery skin that's off-putting to me, it's that smirk he's wearing in nearly all the photos there, like he knows something everyone else doesn't. It gives me the creeps even without the context of his grandchild going missing out in the middle of nowhere. Of course that on top of his troon anatomy makes him severely uncanny, as you said.

He's a perfect candidate for this thread:

The bio grandmother (now) looks like how most older women in the bush dress - they dress down and dont put a lot of effort in because why would you when you have shit to do. Tranpa resembles bio grandmother from 30 or so years ago. When he's in woman costume he takes more care with his appearance because this is literally his sexual fetish.

If he inherited her part of the land, is he trying to keep all the money for himself and dispose of the rest of the family one by one? To live his truth?

But holy shit is he creepy. Reminds me of a Criminal Minds psycho or an assassin from Blacklist who trooned out to go incognito after destabilizing a third world country.

He waited until his father in law died before he came out as a crossdresser. Obviously knowing if he'd done so prior he wouldn't have gotten any of the property.
