The Disappearance of Gus Lamont - The strange case of the Australian 4yo with a tranny grandfather

So many retarded armchair sleuths on Web Sleuths are still defending tranpa. Totally bonkers.

It's a real culture shock to see the granddad refered to as 'she'. My kneejerk reaction was to try and find where the actual grandmother was suspected as the culprit before I remembered that Josie was brave and stunning.

That being said, I am actually still 30/70 on it being an accident vs intentional, and it's neglect, rather than murder, that granddad is trying to dodge.

That was a particularly odd thing for him to say when in this interview he says the opposite: to look out for a kid who could be Gus, and look at features other than his distinctive hair because a kidnapper could easily change it.
I suspect he's reading the news and wondering why people don't love him like he narcissistically craves and demands, and now he's more prepared: he's dressed up with his makeup and fancy hat (lol) and is repeating what he's learnt normal innocent people say when a kid goes missing. He's not very good at it and keeps circling back to "woe is me" bullshit.
He said he'd always believed it was a kidnapping (hopefully a "benign kidnapping", wtf?) from the start... So why tell people not to help? And why take so long to release photos of Gus? There still aren't that many pictures of the kid out there. It's too late to row back all the shit he said and did at the start and it just makes him even more suspicious.

The Practical Linguistics guy, before his channel got nuked, focused on the bit where he does a big dramatic wail and says "HOW?! WHY?!" and points out that he never asks "who did it" or "what happened" or "where is Gus". He just either assumes it's a magical giant super strong eagle or a benign kidnapper, or he knows what actually happened to Gus and he's not clever enough to act as if he doesn't.
Exactly. My impression is he was happy to be the one going out and showing the police all of the places he knew Gus wasn't when they were still looking for a lost child. And that was his first excuse, and as long as Gus was never found out there in that vast expanse, who was to say any different? But then they launched such an extensive search that it strains all credibility that that's what happened. No scent trail found by the dogs, no trail found by the trackers, no sign of anything he had on him (hat, shoes), no glimpse of his blue shirt sticking out like a sore thumb amidst all of the dusty Outback colors in all of the aerial imaging they did, not in the water, not in the abandoned mineshafts, nothing found. And a preschooler doesn't pack the supplies needed to survive long enough to hike out of the search radius and doesn't drive himself off in a vehicle,

So if Gus emphatically didn't wander off, Tranpa needs a new story and it's mostly down to either him or some third party abductor (unless you count the Roc/Thunderbird/Pouakai/UFO swooping in and carrying him miles off theory), so he'd better start claiming he really believed it must have been an abductor from the beginning and throw in accusations of the cops being incompetent bigots for good measure. Try to smear their credibility and get enough gullible 'allies' stirred up that the cops' every move becomes fraught. Because they're just picking on poor Josie for being trans, you know, no other reason, and now the blame is shifted to them from Tranpa because if they'd only listened and believed trans voices then maybe Gus would have been found instead of wasting all of that time, money, and manpower searching for a child that Tranpa always knew must have been abducted (even though, again, he's never made an appeal to the hypothetical abductor, he told the public to butt out, he chased off/assaulted reporters who could have helped get the word out, and the first photo wasn't released for weeks). He's highly motivated to try to make the case to blame someone, anyone, else because otherwise he's to blame. And doing this interview was a way of trying to reestablish the control over the narrative that he lost when the police stopped believing he was genuinely trying to help.

And even without knowing the background of how he acted at the beginning of the disappearance and seeing the disparity with what he's claiming now, Tranpa just immediately shows himself to be full of shit in this interview. The relationship gets framed as 'close,' that Gus was 'the apple of his grandparents' eyes,' while tranpa can tell you that his grandson loved books but can't tell you if he could fucking read. His grandson who lived with him. He actually doesn't mention anything they did together, and the things he does describe Gus as enjoying sound a lot like it's from the perspective of someone who was annoyed with him at the time that he was 'making a mess' (spreading out his piles of books on the floor) and 'being noisy' (banging the car door). Meaning it sounds like Gus wasn't coming to Tranpa with those books he loved and asking him to read them with him or to show off a new skill he was learning. Which I take to mean Gus wasn't comfortable with him, didn't want to spend time with him. I wonder why, and relatedly I wonder how they were 'close' when it apparently wasn't spending time together doing the shit that Gus loved doing.

Seriously, imagine the indifference this exposes. You see your firstborn grandchild with books all the time. You never even cared enough to ask if he's reading yet? Not even when being 'bookish' is a point you supposedly have in common with him that you could use to connect with him? Even clinical narcissists would usually take more of an interest in that (bragging rights over a child being smart and accomplished PLUS being able to claim he takes after you? Catnip). But no. The thing that seems to evoke the most fondness, the most interest from tranpa, is his grandson's hair.

The forum rules on Websleuths seems to mostly be 'no sleuthing allowed.' They're allowed to discuss the things published by MSM and released by police, not information found elsewhere, not even public posts from social media accounts published by key parties. These are supposed to be regarded as 'the facts,' despite how crap journalism usually is and how it's not exactly uncommon for police to misrepresent things to the public/suspects in order to further the case (or to just bungle things). The forum also heavily censors if speculation gets a little too unpleasant or starts veering into wrongthink territory (which includes anything informed by actual understanding of statistics surrounding crime), which takes even higher priority than treating the only two sources allowed as 'the facts,' so when 'the facts' start conflicting with 'be kind' programming, suddenly the police must be bigots and the journo scum deserve to be attacked by Tranpa for...approaching him for comment and investigating the case.

So on its face, it self-selects for credulous posters who are constantly looking for the 'kindest' possible explanation and bending over backwards to pretend there's no difference between tranpa and grandma (even if they have to throw grandma under the bus to do it). Imagine that DMs get a little more interesting as long as posters with a brain are able to hold their tongues enough to not get banned on the public threads. But for all intents and purposes, they aren't allowed to discuss this case in any substantial way and so this stupid thread is what you get. People on what is ostensibly a crime sleuthing site who think it's far-fetched that the most likely suspects would commit crimes and where it's mandated that the only official suspect, now confirmed, be more or less taken at his word because he's a tranny who performed sadness for the camera.

This is exactly how Tranpa is trying to frame it. This isn't like the Nancy Guthrie case, in which the cops did spend too much time acting like a mentally competent old lady just got up in the wee hours of the morning and started wondering about it, as little kids do that crap all the time. The cops did what they were supposed to do, but Tranpa is trying his hardest to make this out to be JonBenet-tier incompetency.

It also doesn't help that Tranpa showed the world his bad side when he couldn't help but push that reporter to the ground for having the audacity to do her job and follow up on a mega story. Reporters suck, but when you're in the middle of a case like this one, what do you expect?

This sticks out to me as well. If I went missing at that age, even my alcoholic dad, who was also constantly mad because toddlers are loud and messy, would have been able to come up with a few things we enjoyed doing together. He'd have probably talked about cheering on Mark Martin when NASCAR was racing, watching Jake the Snake's cobra chomp down on Randy Savage's arm, going to the rodeo, etc. Tranpa doesn't have any of that. Gus likes books, but which ones? Does he like books about nature? Little story books? Dinosaur books? Could he read them, or did the real grandma read to him? Maybe he just looked at the pictures.

What are the statistical odds of a troon in your immediate family?
What are the odds of your child going missing?

For those two things to occur in your immediate family and be unrelated would be astronomically unlikely.

That psychopath TIM is so confident in himself, Seen him pretend to weep, but never saw an actual tear on his stupid ugly face. Captured cops in shithole Australia would prefer that baby stay lost than to risk being seen as "bigots".
