I know. Not that they couldn'd find someone else to be here otherwise (it worked on The Simpsons I think), but yeah, I always digged Doris Grau's perforances.
"You're old enough to be my mother!"
"And you're fat enough to be my car."

Also, I wish I could find the billboard that Jay's ex-wife Ardeth put up outside his window that reads "Jay Owes Me This Much In Alimony Payments" with a rapidly rising counter.

Aw man, I loved this show... But I was not a fan of the shitty live action version they tried to make a few years back...

I can't be the only one who thinks this.

The Critic had one of the best intro opening songs in cartoon history. It always relaxed me and put me in a good mood. And when Comedy Central aired it in the middle of the night it usually would calm me.

I agree. I watched this show when it was originally airing. At the time, I didn't think much of it, because I thought a lot of the gags were failed Simpsons jokes.

But it's really grown on me in the meantime. In retrospect, this is one of my favorite cartoon shows. The banter between Jay and Duke is priceless.

And as everyone else has said, the Siskel & Ebert episode is pure gold.

"This from the guy that liked Cop and a Half?"
"Hey, you liked Carnosaur!"

I'm sure especially for those that were already familiar with The Simpsons, this was especially true (even one episode had a Simpsons cameo just because).

I'm glad they were able to do one at all.

I think a lot of people unfairly criticize Family Guy for ripping off The Simpsons, but I think a legitimate case could be made that Family Guy ripped off The Critic, with their non sequiturs in place of the movie parodies.
