There are criminals who go with whoever's available, but there are plenty who position themselves to be able to sift through vulnerable people, and choose the "desirable" ones. If you're both beautiful and vulnerable, you're fucked. Defenselessness is a prerequisite, but within that pool, attractiveness and vulnerability compound each other.

I had an innocent/cute face growing up with a disproportionately mature body, no money, and no parental supervision, while in the workforce since age 12. I won't PL, but it was hell. If you're already in a bad position, people can smell it, and things like having an innocent-looking face or a certain body type makes being targeted more likely than not. If you don't think it draws criminals, you're kidding yourself. Of course it does.
