He's not actually a terrible critic, just not terribly inspiring. His contrarianism aside, there's nothing really remarkable about what he does. He has the knowledge you'd expect of someone who graduated film school (although his degree is actually in music), and outside his occasional controversial opinions (like Toy Story 3 or rating that Oscar-bait shit I have forgotten entirely badly just to ruin its perfect score), has about the same opinions you'd expect of someone who graduated film school at the time he got his degree.
 
Incidentally, come to think about it, he was actually right about that movie. I looked it up. Three Oscars. Moonlight. Literally about niggerfaggots.

I have not heard it mentioned since it was the "best picture" of its year.

I never cared for award shows and the Oscars is one major example of how award shows are pointless. Plus, that whole meme where La La Land was robbed for Best Picture over Moonlight was beyond mid-2010s onward SJW propaganda

It lost me that last little bit of naivete about Oscars being worth anything that I didn't even know I still had after Goodfellas lost to Dances With Kevin Costner.

They are both great movies, but yes Goodfellas is way better and it should've won Best Picture. But then again the Academy preferred Forrest Gump over either Quiz Show or The Shawshank Redemption and American Beauty over The Cider House Rules, The Insider or The Sixth Sense, so I really don't know what to think anymore.

I don't know why people make such a big deal over that, I didn't think Toy Story 3 was that great either. It basically covered the same ground as Toy Story 2.
 
I am surprised, he could make CWC book and get enough weenbucks to have his own craft brewery. Sonichu Sauce.
