Saw other people doing this and thought I'd represent my home country too, unless someone else has made a thread for the UK. If so, then never mind.

Ready and waiting for questions, everybody!

What is the tastiest foods from the British-region? I have no idea because they all have weird names (like spotted dick) and they're all beige colored to me.

Hm... that's a toughie... considering that most "traditional" English food has been thrown to the wind in favour of takeaway meals. But I think one that a lot of people believe to be the tastiest is the Roast Dinner. There's a lot of combinations you can get with that meal, and it's adaptable depending on taste for things like meat and vegetables.

Do people get upset if outsiders lump British/Scottish/Welsh/Northern Irish people together?
It depends- some of the irish get very tetchy about being called british and many scots get tetchy at being called english.

tikka masala

Why are your dicks spotted?
dotted for extra pleasure, or chronic inbreeding that does it too.

Why are your teeth always so jacked up?
It's more that America seems to have an obsession with perfectly straight, unnaturally white teeth. Our overall dental health is actually very good due to the our healthcare system and the ease of access to dentists. Sure, many kids will get braces when they're younger, but we just don't feel the need to have corrective surgery done to fix fairly minor imperfections.
I live in Scotland and can confirm that most Scottish people really hate being grouped with the English. Many of them really want to be seen as a separate nation.
Meh, we don't like being called English, but virtually anybody here will know this only arises when somebody from overseas doesn't actually know the difference. If a canadian came over here, most people would hear the accent and say "you're American, huh?" Same kind of thing. If anybody gets properly angry at a genuine mistake, they're just being a twat.

We voted on independence less than a year ago and it came out 55% against, 45% for (sadly, imo) But the overwhelming majority of anybody who voted for independence, myself included, have no dislike of the English, or being British as such, we just feel that the current Tory government doesn't represent the interests of Scotland and we'd be better served by our own, independent government.

Yeah, that's a fair point. It just depends on where you live and what people you interact with, really. I wasn't meaning to generalise ALL Scottish people and their views.

That could be because the Republic of Ireland is not part of the UK.
To summarize: There is a Northern Ireland, and a Southern (Republic of) Ireland. The Republic is not part of the U.K., the North is part of the U.K. There are two basic parties in the North, the Nationalists and the Unionists. The Nationalists do not consider themselves British and strive to be part of the Republic. The Unionists consider themselves British, and want to maintain the status quo.
