No.now that it’s ended, is the boys worth seeing for someone who has no clue abt both the show and the comic?
The really funny thing about Batman Beyond is that the promos WB ran for the premiere were so awful and misrepresented the show so badly that a lot of people didn't watch the prime-time launch episode. There is a reaso Batman Beyond is one of my favorite TV shows, they were really cooking with that one.
Fuck no.now that it’s ended, is the boys worth seeing for someone who has no clue abt both the show and the comic?
Watch up to Season 3 for Soldier Boy. That's it. Everything after that is just them twiddling their thumbs and going around, trying to solve a problem they could've solved by the end of S3. In other words, filler.now that it’s ended, is the boys worth seeing for someone who has no clue abt both the show and the comic?
The really shocking thing about Batman Beyond is that it was initially pushed as one of those shows that was required to have a moral message at the end of every episode by the network, yet the people making it had such talent that they were able to create something unique and great within those constraints.
Batman Beyond is more mature and memorable than any of the R-rated (R for retarded btw) modern slop like the Boys or Invincible
I've followed it entirely through Homelander clips on YouTube: highly recommend. I seriously didn't even realize Jack Quaid was in the show until like a month ago.now that it’s ended, is the boys worth seeing for someone who has no clue abt both the show and the comic?
It was, very briefly. Legend explains to Hughie at some point how supervillains are just regular supes going postal, with Vought propaganda creating a more impressive narrative around the whole thing to prop up whatever hero was sent to deal with them.I think upon reflection of the comic I think it's both a plus and a minus that the supervillain/criminal side of the capes aspect wasn't tackled.
Supes do occasionally get into some heroics, but under heavy Vought supervision and away from official efforts, Starlight's old team was mentioned to have gotten big after doing some disaster relief aid during heavy flooding. On one hand it makes you wonder what the hell the superheroes are even doing(or are said to be doing) for them to have a public image in the first place, seems like SuperDuper were the only ones interested in any kind of community service or any kind of crime fighting(I'm aware Vought directs their superheroes away from actual law enforcement), and it would have opened up interesting possiblities if Vought or a rival company to Vought was funding the criminal aspect to benefit/harm Vought's grip on the industry.
there was an outright study done on this shitAmazing how the right is able to understand the left and steelman their arguments while the left is incapable and unwilling to do the same.
I think they do, they utilize DoubleThink so they never have to outwardly admit it, its coy games with them, its also how they cope with all the purity spiraling and struggle sessions over topics that are absurd like Tranny shit, where the smarter ones know its not true, but with double think, they can also know its true.there was an outright study done on this shit
turns out leftists don't even know what their opponents think
That is down to the circular superiority complex of the left. The way Kripke had Homelander grovel and beg was obviously a humiliation ritual for the character and Starr, as well as what he wishes would happen to Trump.
A good and compelling story could be drawn from the comic and varying superhero deconstructions but that would require effort, money, time, and someone interested in telling a good story versus sperging about Trump and his political opponents.

Huh, now that I think about it that sounds like many people on this side. Why should they consider anything that goes against their beliefs? Their beliefs are superior, because it is they who believe them, and they are superior because they subscribe to those beliefs.
The Venture Bros is made by comics geeks for comics geeks. The sort of people who get a kick out of seeing some parody of an obscure hero or insanely specialist joke. Most people don't really want to watch a show where a character is sniffily correcting another because the Tolkien language they're reading is Sindarin, not Quenya. It kind of makes me MATHI that the Venture Brothers aka the greatest superhero parody/deconstruction ever made had financial problems throughout its entire run and Amazon happily threw a hundred million plus at this garbage show.
I know the study @God of Nothing is likely referring to and it's not hypocrisy. They genuinely don't. In this study, when asked what a Left Wing person thinks a Right Wing person gives a more accurate response than the reverse. It ties into the prevailing views of each faction of the other. The Left tends to view the Right as evil, and the Right tends to view the Left as misguided (or idiots, depending on how charitable they're feeling). It's a very real and notable disconnect.I think they do, they utilize DoubleThink so they never have to outwardly admit it, its coy games with them, its also how they cope with all the purity spiraling and struggle sessions over topics that are absurd like Tranny shit, where the smarter ones know its not true, but with double think, they can also know its true.
They purposefully never allow themselves to admit or "know" what Right wingers think, feel or believe, but they also know what they think feel and believe, if its necessary for them to, at their core, DoubleThink is the most important tool Leftists use, and a shackle they willingly put on and can never remove, lest they be cast out, for the rest of their lives.
Its on purpose, Leftists want their followers to know the enemy can be sympathetic, but must be slaughtered anyway, remember, Homelander is every right-wing guy they want to kill, especially Trump, they need to dehumanize them but also allow for the thought they have human characteristics so people can commit to it still.doesn't make any sense in storytelling to then glorify his death and humiliate a sympathetic villain, even if there's only a shred of sympathy, unless it's a humiliation ritual. The artistic intention is the same as filming an Islamic beheading video; terrorize those opposed and celebrate the death of the infidels.

Because at the end of the day, gross-out humor and subversiveness is nowhere near as mature as a film with a lesson to teach.I agree because true maturity is how to handle the topics at hand. Id also say the Incredibles is far more mature than The Boys as well even if it's a family film. The discovery of all of the dead supers being used as combat tests hit harder and are more shocking than any attempts of hyper violence most series have.
MHA respects the idea of superheroes and respects their fans. The Boys comic and show insults the very idea of superheroes and despises the fans of the latter.Like I said, it's really fucking bad when stuff aimed at a much younger audience, namely, My Hero Academia has a more thought out world (and better villains with actual motivations beyond "I'm crazy because no one loved me")
Mind you, nothing in the boys is as well done as this villain origin
